Cabinet of Expendables

February 2, 2017February 23, 2017 Buck Banks

Donald Trump doesn’t really have advisers,
Deeming himself better, sharper and wiser.
Except for Jared and Ivanka,
Who meld into JAVANKA —
Trump’s only trusted and true SUPER ADVISER.

Needless in D.C.

February 1, 2017March 17, 2017 Buck Banks

Donald Trump says we don’t need the Mexicans.
Mike Flynn says we don’t need the Iranians.
And we don’t need Muslim refugees
Or green card holders with advanced degrees.
And pretty soon, we won’t even need real Americans.

Gorsuch? Not Much.

February 1, 2017March 17, 2017 Buck Banks

Following a weekend of travel-ban outrage,
Trump tried to make us feel somewhat encouraged.
But liberals can’t expect much
From conservative Neil Gorsuch,
Though he promised “Impartiality and independence, collegiality and courage.”

It’s Medium Done

February 1, 2017March 17, 2017 Buck Banks

So no Trump admin folks will appear on CNN,
There’ll be no more Sean Spicer or Kellyanne.
They’re replacing Jake Tapper
With a conservative rapper,
And getting all their fake news from Mike Flynn.

One Marvelous Mole

January 31, 2017March 17, 2017 Buck Banks

She is known as the “Mysterious Intruder,”
Part Wonder Woman, part Batgirl, part MacGruder.
She penetrated the defenses
Of the GOPers and Pences,
And if Trump finds her he’ll personally waterboard ‘er.

Wannabe Secretary Takes a Memo

January 31, 2017March 17, 2017 Buck Banks

If you find yourself, for words, at a loss,
When applying to make Donald Trump your boss.
You’ve kind of heard them before,
But you can’t place just where,
It’s OK, you’ve just got that old deja Vos.

Won’t Be Back

January 31, 2017February 23, 2017 Buck Banks

Arnold Schwarzennegger’s not known for his artifice,
Though the guy did hold California’s highest office.
But in disagreeing with Donald,
One wonders if Arnold
Realizes he could get terminated from “Celebrity Apprentice.”

No Enjoyment Entitlement

January 25, 2017February 23, 2017 Buck Banks

Trump looks back wistfully on his candidacy,
Before all these questions about legitimacy.
Between the media hacks
And the Democrat attacks,
A pouting Donald can’t really “enjoy” his presidency.

There’s No ‘Alternative’

January 23, 2017February 23, 2017 Buck Banks

Our new prez is notorious for his Twitter attacks,
And his disdain for the press as libelous hacks.
But veracity’s the victim
When he pulls statistics from his rectum,
But wait — they’re not lies — they’re “alternative facts.”

A Demagogue Crowned

January 20, 2017February 23, 2017 Buck Banks

The inauguration — it’s hard to ignore.
There’s pomp, there’s circumstance galore!
In the drizzly gloom,
Some read portents of doom,
But really, we can’t imagine what Trump has in store.

20 Minutes with Mitch
Buck Banks | Jul. 8, 2026

The recent news out of Kentucky was just awful,
They found the senator unconscious and horizontal.
And since his hospitalization,
There’s been little news about his condition,
But now everybody’s having a 20-minute conversation with Mitch McConnell.

“We are done, Americans are done with endless conflict in the Middle East, spending trillions of dollars, American lives… this is insane and we have to call it for what it is.”

    — Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), on CNN.

    44%

An Associated Press-NORC survey found that 44% of American Jews hold a favorable opinion of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, compared with 39% who view him unfavorably. By contrast, just 32% of respondents said they have a favorable opinion of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while 59% said they have a negative view.

“Their New Deal is socialism for the super-rich (and their own enrichment) even if it means increasing poverty, inequality, and illness at home and around the world. They also want to rewrite history to ignore and outright deny our past flaws while banning books that say otherwise from our libraries. And they select even our military leaders based on their version of political correctness over ability.”

    — Former President Bill Clinton, quoted by Deadline, in his July 4th message.

    $4,600

President Donald Trump is asking for $1,500,000 million for the military for next year. That’s close to $600 billion (adjusted for inflation) more than we were spending on the military in fiscal year 2025, before Trump took office, Alternet reports. This increase is huge by any measure. It comes to around $4,600 per household. It is around 8% of the total budget.

    61% to 35%

Wall Street Journal: “Around 40% of voters in the 2024 election said the economy was their top issue, far outstripping any other matter. And those voters favored Donald Trump by 60% to 38%. Many say they were moved by his pledges to tame inflation, rebuild U.S. infrastructure, cut red tape and trim government waste. … About a year and a half later, more voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy than approve, 61% to 35%, an average of polls by the Cook Political Report found this month.”
