What To Do About Rush Limbaugh

Want to rid the public airways of Rush Limbaugh? Go to the top.

File a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission.

Next, contact his employer, who profits from Limbaugh’s perverted rants:

Mark Mays
CEO Clear Channel Communications
200 East Basse Rd
San Antonio, TX 78209
Phone: (210) 822-2828
publicrelations@clearchannel.com

And finally, keep contacting the advertisers who support the Rush Limbaugh Show. I am not listing them here because, as of press time, many have discontinued their sponsorship (Quicken Loans, Sleep Train Mattress Centers, Heart & Body Extract, Oreck Upright Vacuum Cleaners, Sleep Number Beds, AutoZone, Citrix Online — aka GoToMeeting.com, GoToMyPC.com) and more are bailing by the minute.

But you might want to express to the Mitt Romney campaign how weak and mealy-mouthed their candidate sounded today, when all he could find to disagree about with Limbaugh was not what Rush said but how he said it.

“I’ll just say this, which is, it’s not the language I would have used. I’m focusing on the issues I think are significant in the country today, and that’s why I’m here talking about jobs and Ohio.”

Montana Judge Who Sent Email Implying Pres. Obama’s Mother Had Sex With Dogs Says He Isn’t Racist

MontanaJudge
Judge Cebull

To those who say that all racism is in the South (and that all those in the South are racist), I give you Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull from the state of Montana.

His honor, appointed to the bench by Pres. George W. Bush, thought this email was appropriate to circulate among six “old buddies:”

The forwarded text reads:

“Normally I don’t send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

“A little boy said to his mother; ‘Mommy, how come I’m black and you’re white?’” the e-mail joke reads. “His mother replied, ‘Don’t even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you’re lucky you don’t bark!’”

The judge, upon being ratted out by one of those buds, quickly apologized, saying it’s not that he’s racist, it’s just that he hates Pres. Obama.

Romney Adds to Growing List of Bigger and Better Gaffes at Daytona

RomneyRain
Mitt, demonstrating proper jacketing for the tasteful race fan

For those of you who are doing shots every time Mitt Romney speaks a gaffe, we have a seat reserved for you at the next A.A. meeting. The man can’t make a public appearance without saying something to vividly illustrate how rich and out of touch he is.

Consider his photo op at the Daytona 500 for example. After taking a valuable day off from campaigning in Michigan to jet down to the scheduled race* to prove he’s a motorhead like the rest of us average Joes, Romney blew it as he toured the stands.

Asked by an Associated Press reporter as he was greeting NASCAR fans whether he follows the sport, Romney said: “Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans. But I have some great friends that are NASCAR team owners.”

That’s like saying you enjoy football because you hang out with Roger Goodell. At the Super Bowl. In the sky box.

But Romney wasn’t done. Oh no, not while he still has a mouth to speak with and a foot to fill it.

Eating Their Own: Coulter Hates Jeb

I think, on closer examination, Jeb Bush would be the worst of all candidates to run. For one thing, we don’t need another Bush. That would be embarrassing to the Republican Party. He’s more pro amnesty for illegals than his brother was, more than Rick Perry was.

— Republican color commentator Ann Coulter, announcing she hates Jeb Bush and apparently wasn’t too fond of his big brother either. Could have fooled us.

Even (Neo) Conservatives are Tired of Low-Information Republicans

Conservative columnist and neocon Bush II speechwriter David Frum wrote recently that he is tired of being surrounded by dumb people. At least, that was basically the point of his article, “When Did the GOP Lose Touch with Reality?” in the November New York magazine.

On a recent CNN appearance, Frum tried to expand on the harmful affect of FOX News on American discourse although CNN’s Howard Kurtz seemed determine to err on the side of championing FOX.

Note: We wrote last year about the example Frum cites, a story that first surfaced broadly on the Drudge Report web site and was then taken up with fervor by FOX.

Faux Outsider: Cain Was a Lobbyist In Bed with Big Tobacco

If you’re having trouble grocking Herman Cain, a recent article in the New York Times will make your mental light bulb shine.

Cain, who has been the next Reagan since he won the straw poll at Florida’s Presidency 5 confab in September, says his main virtue is that he is an outsider to politics. And while it’s true that Cain has never held elected office, he is only an outsider in the Jack Abramoff sense of that word.*

…the role that helped propel Mr. Cain into politics was that of an ultimate Washington insider: industry lobbyist.
