Fox Anchor Rips Michele Bachmann on Impeachment: ‘An Enormous Waste of Time’

Less than a week after a Foxbot reminded Dick Cheney that, “Time and time again, history has proven that you got it wrong as well in Iraq, sir,” Fox talking head Neil Cavuto blasted tea party Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on his show last night after she called for impeaching the president:

Pelosi Reacts to Bachmann on Rainbow Rulings

Who cares?

– Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reacting to Minnesota Tea Party Rep. Michele Bachmann reacting to the Supreme Court rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Prop 8 by saying, “Marriage was created by the hand of God. No man, not even a Supreme Court, can undo what a holy God has instituted.”

Chootzpah: Mired in Scandal, Rep. Bachmann Re-Launches Tea Party Caucus

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the founding chair of the Tea Party Caucus in Congress, is facing investigations into multiple charges of corruption related to what the Daily Beast called her “faceplant” presidential run in 2012. Nonetheless, Bachmann chose to prove this week that she is not a pariah among her extreme right-wing colleagues by relaunching the Caucus, which had been inactive for nearly a year.

The Caucus went dark last summer, in part because Bachmann was preoccupied by her presidential run. After the election, there may have been meager enthusiasm for getting the group together because 10 of its original 60 members lost their seats. As recently as last month, the membership page of the Caucus website was defunct. The movement is also in bad odor with the public. A poll in January from Rasmussen, the GOP pollster, found that just 8 percent of those surveyed would cop to being tea baggers.

And yet the Caucus met this week for the first time since the 113th Congress was sworn in, and Chairwoman Bachmann — who had received the endorsement of just one member of the caucus, Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona, during the Republican primaries — was on hand:

Bachmann Refuses to Deny She Is Being Vetted to Be Romney’s VP

Whoever it is that he chooses to bring in as his V.P., it will be a highly competent person who could step in at a moment’s notice and assume the responsibilities of the White House.

– Rep. Michele Bachmann, refusing to deny she is being vetted by the Romney campaign for the V.P. slot — although “highly competent” would appear to rule her, along with her doppelganger Sarah Palin, out.

Round Two for Michele Bachmann?

I’m the one that has the momentum that’s shooting up the chart right now.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R – Minn.), explaining why she should not, as an Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats suggested, either dial down her candidacy to vice presidential levels or quit altogether. The latest Gallup poll of potential Republican voters shows Bachmann tied with Gov. Rick Perry (R – Tx.) at 7%. Other candidates have picked up support after Herman Cain dropped out and Newt Gingrich started falling, but Bachmann’s claim still seems optimistic.

As First Lady, Marcus Bachmann’s Number One Cause Will Be Hating Gays

Jazzy!
Jazzy!
If his wife Michele is elected president next year and he becomes America’s first male First Lady, Marcus “Jazzy Hands” Bachmann says he will not pursue a socialist cause like Michelle Obama’s campaign to improve childhood nutrition. Instead, perhaps not surprisingly, his cause will be preventing equal marriage rights for gays:

“I’ve decided my cause is not going to be happy meals,” he said during a stop at the Family Table Restaurant here, apparently a dig at Mrs. Obama.

“We are going to be the message-givers,” said Mr. Bachmann, who runs a Christian counseling service that has been accused of trying to “heal” gays by persuading them to become heterosexual.

“We are going to get this message across,” he said. “Marriage is between one man and one woman. We are going to promote families.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan Chait suggests that Michele’s presidential aspirations have become such a long shot that she’s now pinning her hopes on being named Mitt Romney’s running mate. “Obviously,” writes Chait, “you’d have to be delusional to think that Romney would put a massive liability like Bachmann on his ticket. Luckily for him, Bachmann is delusional.”

At the Republican presidential debate this week in Sioux City, Iowa, Bachmann earned an astounding twelfth “Pants on Fire” from Politifact for lying when she said, “PolitiFact came out and said that everything I said was true” in the prior debate. Politifact says it said no such thing.

Trump Has Snit Fit, May Quit As GOP Debate Moderator

[Michele Bachmann] came up to see me four times. She would call me and ask me for advice. She said if she wins, she would like to think about me for the vice presidency. Most importantly, I did a two-hour phone call for her with her people. … And after all that, she announced she was not going to do the debate. It’s called loyalty. How do you do that? It’s amazing to me.

– The Donald, explaining why he’s thinking of quitting as moderator of the December 27 GOP presidential debate hosted by birther website, Newsmax.

Bachmann Reminds Student That Gay Men Can Marry, As Long As They Marry Women – And She Should Know

From the first moment he burst onto the public stage with his jazzy hands, high-pitched feminine voice and sibilant s’es, Marcus Bachmann has registered at about an 11 on a scale of one to 10 on gaydars across the nation.

Adding fuel to rumors that he is closeted is the fact that he has made his living, in part, from one of the saddest rackets around: convincing gay Christians that they can be, or need to be, “cured.”

Here’s the rule, and you can take this to the bank: Heterosexuals who are secure about their own sexuality are not obsessed with homosexuality. People who are happily straight are apathetic about the mechanics of gay sex. They do not make it their life mission to suppress gay rights. They don’t spend every waking hour figuring out new ways to oppress gay people, and they never send their families out to picket funerals with signs that say, for example, “God Hates Fags.” And, especially, they don’t try to “cure” homosexuality with “pray away the gay” schemes like Bachmann’s.

Now, in the latest gaffe in her presidential campaign, Marcus’ wife, Michele, appears to have spilled the beans about their marriage. At a town hall in Waverly, Iowa, Rep. Bachmann was questioned about marriage equality by Jane Schmidt, a high school student:

JANE SCHMIDT: Then, why can’t same-sex couples get married?

BACHMANN: They can get married, but they abide by the same law as everyone else. They can marry a man if they’re a woman. Or they can marry a woman if they’re a man.

Hey, it worked for her, right?

Oops! Michele Bachmann Promises to Close U.S. Embassy in Iran When She Is President

ABC News:

In light of the British Foreign Ministry pulling all U.K. nationals out of the British embassy in Tehran after students stormed the building in protest, GOP presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann told a crowd in Waverly, Iowa, today that she would close the U.S. embassy in Iran.

One small, tiny note: The U.S. hasn’t had an embassy in Tehran since 1980. Following the Iranian Hostage Crisis, where 52 Americans were held for 444 days, the United States cut all diplomatic ties.

According to reports, Bachmann applauded the U.K.’s move, adding, “That’s exactly what I would do [if I were president]. We wouldn’t have an embassy in Iran. I wouldn’t allow that to be there.”

Recall just a few weeks ago when Bachmann bragged to Fox News that she had a squeaky clean record.

“I haven’t had a gaffe or something that I’ve done that has caused me to fall in the polls,” she said.

Now — wait for it! — the walk-back:
