Paul Supporters Reach New Low in Anti-Huntsman Ad

Words can’t adequately describe the hot mess of racism and xenophobia that is this anti Jon Huntsman ad, so we provided it here so you could see for yourself. It is, in fact, so bad that some Paulestinians claim it was actually made as part of a conspiracy on Huntsman’s part to make Paul and his nutty devotees look bad. Yes, there’s nothing that makes serial conspiracy buffs look more legitimate than allegations of a new conspiracy. Except there is no evidence in this case that anyone but Ronulans are to blame.

Huntsman has one adopted daughter from China and another from India, both of whom were abandoned as babies.

Ron Paul is zealously in favor of outlawing abortion in all cases, despite his assertion that outside of women’s reproductive decisions, government should stay out of people’s lives.

The ad questions Huntsman’s values but it looks like those of Paul and his believers are the ones in need of clarification. If women are forced to take unwanted and accidental pregnancies to term, shouldn’t adopting the resulting abandoned children be considered a virtue — if not an obligation?

How closely Paul is linked to NHLiberty4Paul, the group that produced the ad, is not known. The candidate himself claims, as with the newsletter he published that printed racist ravings, to know nothing about the matter. Paul finds himself at the mercy of unhinged folks more often than the starlet in a horror film.

Iowa Paulestinians are going crazy (is that redundant?) over the news that Republicans plan to count caucus votes in “an undisclosed location.” By that, we assume they mean the underground bunker where Dick Cheney passed most of his term as vice president.

On the one hand, we agree the so-called threat to vote security sounds entirely made up. On the other, we don’t think it means Republicans are engaged in a conspiracy to deny Rep. Ron Paul (GOP/Lib – Tx) some rightful victory.

But try telling that to Paul’s supporters.

I’m still waiting for a Ronulan to explain how Paul’s stance on abortion (he wants it outlawed) is consistent with his support for adults making their own decisions without government interference. Anybody?

Politico reported that the Iowa GOP was going under deep cover to count the votes, but cited an AP story that only claimed Occupy Wall Street protestors would attend caucuses and vote no preference. How such action would scuttle the vote is not clear but it indicates Republican paranoia about the Occupy movement.

The state party has not yet told the campaigns exactly where the returns will be added up, only that it will be off-site from the Iowa GOP’s Des Moines headquarters.

Meanwhile, the man himself continues to explain, explain, explain. When ABC’s Jake Tapper asked Paul about racist statements published repeatedly in the Ron Paul Survival Report, Paul confessed only to bad management skills.

The average amount higher that same-sex married couples pay in income taxes than their man-lady counterparts, even in states where same-sex marriage is legal. The problem is the federal government following the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), put in place under Pres. Bill Clinton and which defines marriage as an arrangement between one man and one woman. The Obama administration has declined to defend DOMA in court but Congress may defend do so and Speaker of the House John Boehner has announced intentions to continue to do exactly that.

The kamikazes’ casualty list this year is long. They blew up the debt-ceiling vote this summer, sparking a downgrade in the nation’s credit rating. They blew up the appropriations process so thoroughly that routine spending votes morphed into philosophical standoffs that nearly locked down the federal government three times and required seven temporary funding patches just to keep the lights on. And this week, they managed to blow up not just a tax cut that nearly everyone in Washington agrees is a good idea, but also their party’s hard-earned reputation for cutting taxes and, quite possibly, their chances at a long-term majority in the House and future control of the Senate.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R – Minn.), explaining why she should not, as an Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats suggested, either dial down her candidacy to vice presidential levels or quit altogether. The latest Gallup poll of potential Republican voters shows Bachmann tied with Gov. Rick Perry (R – Tx.) at 7%. Other candidates have picked up support after Herman Cain dropped out and Newt Gingrich started falling, but Bachmann’s claim still seems optimistic.
