Romney accepts the Republican nomination for president with the lowest personal popularity of any major-party nominee in polls dating to Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

Ann Romney’s speech to the Republican National Convention last night included an anecdote about the hard times she and Mitt faced when they were young — a story intended to assure middle class voters that, despite the fact that the Romneys are multimillionaires, they’re really just regular folks like you and me:

In his speech to the Republican Convention last night, House Speaker John Boehner, who also serves as the convention chairman, deployed a boozy analogy in which Republicans are bar flies and the president is a drunk, presumably, who says something that the bar fly hive mind collectively finds offensive:
Republican Delegate Removed from Convention Floor After Racist Outburst
Update: The RNC released a statement saying that two “attendees,” not just one, were expelled from the convention. The statement reads, “Yesterday two attendees exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.” No information has been released about the identity of the two attendees, including whether they were delegates and, if so, from which state or states.

Juan Williams Questions Ann Romney’s Credentials After Mitt’s Wife Talks About Eating Tuna While Living Off Stock Options
Wow. Add Juan Williams to the growing list of mainstream journalists who have had it with GOP lies, distortion, and spin. Williams wasn’t buying Ann Romney’s assertions at the Republican convention that she and Mitt struggled early on. Mitt was the son of a governor (who ran for president).
