Wrath of Prudes
Rep. Weiner’s being pilloried, to his chagrin,
For texting pics of his prick on a whim.
But a Blackberry’s no sex toy,
And to paraphrase Carter to Playboy:
If you lust in your text, it’s a sin.

Now that the Anthony Weiner scandal is receding in the rearview mirror (kind of), we weigh in on the good and bad results.
Bad thing: Andrew Breitbart gained credibility, though he lost some of that when he upstaged Weiner at Weiner’s own press conference, and came off like a egomaniacal ideologue on the order of Joe McCarthy.
Good thing: Distracted media from Sarah Palin for a nanosecond.
Bad thing: Timing — distracted everyone from the fact that Weiner is on the committee that was going to look into Justice Clarence Thomas’ tax returns and Ginny Thomas’ missing income, like nowish.
Good thing: Weiner’s social media incompetence has encouraged everyone else to study up on how to send a direct message on Twitter and how to reply on Facebook.
Bad thing: The long-lasting vision of Weiner’s gum-smacking e-paramour being interviewed on TV.
Good thing: Mrs. Weiner had the good sense and class to not stand by her man at the press conference.
Bad thing: Weiner’s a pervo loser who got caught in a sex scandal, and now doesn’t even have the pleasure of remembered actual sex acts; all he has are crotch shots — of himself.
Good thing: Tighty whiteys are all the rage on Capitol Hill this summer!
The news media would like us to indulge
Its need to chronically divulge.
But we’re starting to hate
The entire Fourth Estate
For reporting on Tony Weiner’s crotch bulge.
The Schwarzenegger household’s in a mess
After Arnold’s dalliance with a parlor maid or governess.
His inability to modulate
His fervent need to copulate
Has brought him to a new level of classlessness.
Poor old Silvio Berlusconi.
I guess life at the top gets lonely.
So he created a drama
With an underaged mama
By playing hide the salami with Ruby!
Count me as surprised that DeLay was sentenced to jail time:
Former House majority leader Tom DeLay was sentenced to three years in prison for his role in a money-laundering case stemming from the 2002 elections.
DeLay, once one of the most powerful Republicans in Congress, was convicted in November for illegally funneling $190,000 in corporate money through the Republican National Committee to help elect Republicans to the Texas Legislature during the 2002 elections.
Texas judge Pat Priest sentenced DeLay to three years on a conspiracy charge and also sentenced him to five years in prison for money laundering. Priest, however, allowed DeLay to accept 10 years probation on the money laundering charge, assuming he meets certain conditions set by the court.
DeLay could have received up to life in prison on the money laundering and conspiracy charges.
The former Houston area congressman, known as “The Hammer,” was unrepentant today in court. “I fought the fight. I ran the race. I kept the faith,” he said, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
It will be a bigger surprise if he serves more than three months.

The fact that I’ve never seen ABC’s Dancing With the Stars does not keep me from voicing an opinion on one of this season’s stars. And my opinion is…well, never mind. But here are some of the comments being left on the show’s web site.

I knew Stewart would have a field day with the Sanford tragedy but this exceeds expectations.
