Coulter: The Point of Hannity’s Show is to Elect Romney
Anyone who donates to Mitt Romney, and I mean the big donors, ought to say if Andrea Saul isn’t fired and off the campaign tomorrow, they are not giving another dime, because it is not worth fighting for this man if this is the kind of spokesman he has…There’s no point in you doing your show, [emphasis added] there’s no point in going to the convention and pushing for this man if he’s employing morons like this.
Ann Coulter, exploding on the Sean Hannity Show over another gaffe from the Romney campaign, but also putting to rest the notion that FOX News is anything but a vehicle for advancing Republicans and the conservative agenda. When she said that if Romney can’t run a better campaign then there is no point in Hannity doing his show, she acknowledged that the purpose of Hannity’s show is to elect Romney and other Republicans.
Romney Spokeswoman: If Joe Soptic Lived in Massachusetts, His Late Wife ‘Would Have Had Health Care’ under Romneycare
To that point, if people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care.

Romney Hid His Returns in 2002 Mass. Governor’s Race, Too – and When One Secret Came to Light, It Proved He’d Lied about His Eligibility to Serve

As George Will said about Mitt Romney’s refusal to release his tax returns, “The cost of not releasing the returns are clear. Therefore, he must have calculated that there are higher costs in releasing them.” Last week we learned that whatever it is he is hiding may not be new.
Rachel Maddow and her producers did a little digging and found that, in 2002, when he was running for governor of Massachusetts, Romney was equally adamant that he would not release his tax returns. A key issue then was Romney’s eligibility to serve as governor. Massachusetts law requires that in order to serve as governor, candidates must have resided in the state for the previous seven consecutive years. Because Romney had lived in Utah full time while he ran the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, it seemed obvious he did not meet that requirement.
Romney’s Poll Problems, Cont’d – Undecideds’ Favorable Opinion of Him Polls in the Teens
Nate Cohn at TNR:
[Recent] polling from Pew Research and NBC/WSJ suggests that Romney has a real problem with the undecided voters he’s counting on to put him over the top. Approximately half of undecided voters have an unfavorable impression of Romney, while his favorability ratings are mired in the teens. That’s an average net-favorable rating of -33, which is all the more remarkable considering that about one-third of voters didn’t offer an opinion of Romney at all. Put differently, Romney is disliked by an astonishing 75 percent of undecided voters who have formulated an opinion of the Republican nominee…
Between some portion of undecided voters staying home, an inevitable subset voting for Obama, and Romney’s high unfavorable ratings, a flood of undecided voters flocking to Romney seems unlikely—at least if the election were held today.
Postal Service Can Brave Rain, Sleet, Snow, Even Dog Bites — But Not Congress

Normally, this is the kind of number-based story that would go in our Enumerati section. If it were, it would look something like this:
60— Number of bills Congress has introduced to rename post offices, 17% of all bills passed
0— Number of bills Congress has introduced to address the Post Office’s insolvency
But the story needs more explanation, and ABC’s Amy Bingham reported the infuriating facts.
In the 18 months the 112th Congress has been sworn in, the House has introduced 60 bills to rename post offices. Thirty-eight have passed the House and 26 have become law. During those 18 months, the House has produced 151 laws, 17 percent of which have been to rename post offices, according to Congressional Democrats.
Not a single bill has come to the House floor aimed at reforming a Postal Service, which is bleeding billions of dollars because of Congressional mandates.
What Bingham meant when she said “bleeding billions of dollars because of Congressional mandates” is something most Americans don’t know or understand. The reason the United States Postal Service (USPS) is in trouble is not because people pay bills online and it’s not because postal employees aren’t as service-oriented as the private sector (a claim of which I am unconvinced), and it’s damn sure not because of unions.
The reason the postal service is failing is because Congress set it up to do so in 2006.
It Will Be Big, Baby, BIG
Something dramatic.
What Mitt Romney says will help the economy. What that dramatic something might be, however, he did not define except it will not be a move by the Federal Reserve, it will not be an economic stimulus package, and it won’t increase the size of government, whose public sector job losses since lowered tax revenues met tea party freshmen in Congress has been a huge contributor to unemployment figures. Instead, Romney mushily said someone somewhere needs to “create the incentives and the opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses big and small to hire more people.” But not government. Meanwhile, Pres. Obama’s many efforts to create incentives and opportunities for hiring have been fought by Republicans.
Fast Food Restaurants Used as Proxy for Ludicrous Culture Wars in America News Now…It’s time for all of America’s fast food chains just to come out and reveal their positions on the most important political issues affecting America right now. Would Taco Bell let the Bush tax cuts expire, Andy? Does KFC think it’s time to restore diplomatic relations with Cuba? What is the Cheesecake Factory’s position on abortion? These are important questions, Andy. What is Dairy Queen’s attitude toward a pre-emptive strike on Iran? America needs to know. I can’t enjoy a Strawberry Cheesequake, Andy, wondering whether Dairy Queen would allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon. And hold that burrito, Chipotle! Why don’t you let me know your view on the ethics of stem cell research first?
