Song from 2004 Captures Zeitgeist of 2010: ‘I Hate Republicans’

The T-U website needs to hold a convention for all of their regular posters, then they need to bar the doors and set the building on fire.
Comment referring to the Jacksonville Times-Union as quoted by Folio Weekly from the blog, Whacksonville.com. The comment, however, could well be applied to regular posters on any mainstream news outlet web site.
Rubio Leads! — In Number of Citations for Fundraising Violations
4
Number of “flags” issued by the Federal Election Commission to the Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate from Florida campaign for taking contributions in excess of federal limits. Since the notices were issued, starting last year, 24 have gone out, with half going to three candidates: Rubio; Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Id.), who also got four; and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), with three. The other 13 notices have gone to candidates who only got one each.

My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas, are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don’t know how that happened in the United States. It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States.
— Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle (R), telling supporters the country needs to address a “militant terrorist situation” that has
allowed Islamic religious law to take hold in some American cities, the AP reports. Dearborn has a thriving Muslim community. It was not immediately clear why Angle singled out Frankford, a former town that was annexed into Dallas around 1975.
NM02: Palin’s Pick Pearce Promotes Birther Lie That Obama Made Illegal Visit to Pakistan in College
Steve Pearce, the GOP-tea party candidate for the House 2nd District seat in New Mexico, is in a tight race with freshman Democratic Rep. Harry Teague. The race is one of the 37 Democratic seats Real Clear Politics has designated a toss-up this year. Teague won the seat last time with a robust 56 percent to 44 percent margin — despite the fact that McCain-Palin won the district handily.

Like Sarah Palin, Pearce is a birther. He is also either an idiot who believes what he reads in right-wing junk emails or, if he knowingly bases his campaign talking points on spurious facts in these spurious emails, he is, like Palin, a liar:
STEVE PEARCE: My position is that Barack Obama raised the most significant questions himself. He said, after he came to the U.S., that he traveled to Pakistan. Now at the point that he traveled to Pakistan it was not legal to go there with a U.S. passport. And so he, himself, raised the greatest questions. I think that those questions need to be asked.
In fact, that particular lie was given a “Pants on Fire” rating by nonpartisan Politifact.
Palin Appearance Cost $100k
$100,000
Amount spent by Karen Handel (R), who lost the Georgia Republican gubernatorial primary to Nathan Deal (R) in August, to bring Sarah Palin to town to campaign on her behalf.
An Inaccurate Insult
There’s no point in insulting Meg Whitman.
Calling her a whore will just land you in shit, man.
She’s not much of a looker,
So if you think she’s a hooker,
You must not be much of a tit man.
Will Florida’s Three-Way Senate Race Revert to a Two-Way?

Rumors are flying in Florida after this week’s debate among the three candidates for the U.S. Senate. One scenario, put forth by the Wall St. Journal, says Democrats might be pressuring U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.) to drop out of the race, leaving only Gov. Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio to duke it out.
With Meek’s poll numbers showing no bump after the debate, and with groups like the Florida Sierra Club offering dual endorsements of both him and Crist, Meek really has two choices: quit and lose now, or stay in and lose later.
The candidate himself, though, seems still in fighting mode. After the Sierra Club’s odd move, Meek upped the oddness quotient by refusing the endorsement. He also made it clear he’s tired of people forgetting that Charlie Crist is neither a Democrat nor a true environmentalist.
