Pensito Review Prepared to Provide Content to MSM

Quality content, cheap: On the heels of the announcement yesterday about the content-sharing deal struck between the International Herald Tribune, owned by The New York Times, and South Korean news Web site OhMyNews International, the board of directors of Pensito Media Group LLC has decided to make Pensito Review’s content available on the open market. The deal between IHT and OhMyNews ramps up the prestige of so-called “citizen journalism” a notch, and reaffirms the market value of on-line journalistic content to the so-called mainstream media, or MSM.

In a press release announcing the availability of Pensito Review content, the directors of Pensito Media Group noted that while OhMyNews relies on a network of some 40,000 nonprofessional and 50 in-house staffers, Pensito Review’s operation is much leaner, though still capable of putting out high-quality, often-relevant content — priced right.

‘Our business plan is to find a bidder somewhere on the middle ground between the two extremes.’
— Jon

“I’m not saying we’re going to sell content to the highest bidder,” said President and Editor-In-Chief Jon, “and I’m not saying we’re going to sell to the lowest bidder. Our business plan is to find a bidder somewhere on the middle ground between the two extremes.”

The board noted that there were several media outlets that it was not prepared to sell content to, on principle. For instance, the Washington Times is not being considered because it’s “run by a bunch of loonie Moonies” the statement said. Likewise, The Miami Herald is not eligible to buy Pensito Review content because “it’s such a crappy newspaper,” noted Editor Buck.

Asked whether the Pensito Group would consider providing content to the Fox Channel, Editor Trish replied, “Yeah, sure, when Jeb Bush is elected president. Um, strike that. When the pope is German? Oh, I know, when George Bush admits he made a mistake. That seems like a pretty safe bet.”
