Corker Calls for White House to Get It Together
“The White House has got to do something soon to bring itself under control and in order. It’s got to happen. Obviously they’re in a downward spiral right now and they’ve got to figure out a way to come to grips with all that’s happening.”
— Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), quoted by the Tennessean.
John Dean: It Won’t End Well for Trump
“How does it all end? Not well for Trump. I’m not too good at the tea leaves, I don’t think anybody is. I just can’t believe that there isn’t something there on the Russia matter, with Trump doing all that he’s doing. He’s throwing every signal out that he’s got a problem, and he’s trying to make it go away. So that’s why I say I can’t imagine it ending real well for him.”
— Former Nixon White House counsel John Dean, in an interview with New York Magazine.
Showdown, Meltdown — Shutdown!
We’re just 10 days away from a government shutdown,
And the Trump team’s heading for a Congressional showdown.
On the right, there’s the Freedom Caucus,
On the left, the Democrats are raucous,
So we’re predicting another Trump administration meltdown.
Transition Team Had an Unrealistic Timetable for Repeal and Replace
36 days

One transition document, for example, called for Congress to complete work on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act by Feb. 24, or Day 36 of the administration. The GOP health-care bill wasn’t even introduced by that date and was pulled from a House vote last month after meeting fierce resistance, even from many Republicans.”
Indicted for Incitement
He said, “Get ’em outta here,” when he could have stayed silent,
Which a Kentucky judge says was an order, or guidance.
It’s what his supporters heard —
They took Trump at his word,
And so did the judge, who says the candidate incited violence.
Escape-a-Lago
Following the healthcare debacle, Trumpism’s looking bleak,
Between Comey and Ryan, it’s been a helluva week.
So it’s off to Mar-a-Lago
To give his golf game a go,
For the twelfth time in just nine weeks.
Missing His Mystique
All Donald Trump can do is grimace and glower,
After the Freedom Caucus sent his team to the shower.
Those GOPers don’t fear him,
Respect him or love him,
And it seems Trump’s lost his famed “mystique of power.”
