$20 million

Amount Bernie Sanders’s campaign has raised over the last month, “an enormous haul that backs up the campaign’s assertion that it will have enough money for a long, hard-fought nominating fight against Hillary Clinton,” the New York Times reports. Politico: “More than 770,000 people gave to the Vermont senator’s bid in January, with online contributions averaging just $27, the campaign said. And Sanders has so far received more than 3.25 million contributions — more than any presidential campaign at this point in the cycle ever.”

Cruz Raising Phenomenal Amounts of Money

$20 million

Amount Sen. Ted Cruz raised for his presidential campaign in the fourth quarter — a 66% increase over the previous three-month period, the Wall Street Journal reports. “The $20 million haul in the final three months of 2015 is up sharply from the $12.2 million raised in the third quarter, a bonanza that came as polls showed Mr. Cruz rising to a top-tier candidate from a back-of-the-pack contender in the crowded GOP candidate field. … By the end of the third quarter, Mr. Cruz already had more cash on hand than any other GOP candidate.”

Carter: Political System Has Become an ‘Oligarchy’

It violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or being elected president. And the same thing applies to governors, and U.S. Senators and congress members.
