Poll: Clinton Leads Trump by 31 Percentage Points in California

art-cal-flag-dems

In this most unpredictable of all presidential campaign seasons, there is at least one thing that can be counted on to hold true.

California remains a reliable stronghold for the Democratic Party, in general — and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, specifically.

That assumption is based on recent polling in the Golden State, including a well-respected USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll released today.

Trump Supporter: He Reminds Me of a Five Year Old Child, But I’m Voting for Him Anyway

I’ve never voted for anyone like him. He seems very arrogant and outspoken and he reminds me of my kindergarten students: whatever he thinks in his head, he says. I don’t know if I can trust him, but I like that he’s different. He’s made me a believer.

– Denise McLemore, 56, a kindergarten teacher from Lexington, N.C., explaining her support for Donald Trump to a pollster for Bloomberg News. The poll found that Trump is viewed favorably by just 29 percent of Americans, even while about two-thirds of Republicans support him.

Trump Meets with the Washington Post Editorial Board, Discusses the Size of His Hands

The 2016 campaign for the U.S. presidency will likely always be remembered as the first time (and, let’s hope, the last) that a candidate’s genitals became an issue.

The candidate in question is Donald Trump, of course. And for everyone who is familiar with Trump’s history before he entered the presidential race, it is hardly surprising that he’s dragged presidential political discourse down to this unprecedented level of vulgarity.

Secret of Trump’s Success: The ‘Liberal Media’ Has Given Him a Free Ride

graph-trump-free-media

Statistics on media coverage of the 2016 presidential race reveal how Donald Trump has managed to dominate the race. He did by commandeering media coverage and using the time to promote his brand of racist demagoguery.

The media has been complicit, of course, because it turns out that inflaming race hatred in America is good for ratings.

Amy Goodman laid it all on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday.

Anonymous Isn’t April Foolin’ About War on Trump

The hacking group Anonymous is again threatening to make life harder on Donald Trump. Having already published his social security and cell phone numbers, along with the names of family members and other “private” information, they are now seeking more. They want their followers to hack The Donald on April 1, aka April Fool’s Day.

We’d feel worse about this than we do if the man himself hadn’t already pulled a similar stunt by reading Sen. Lindsay Graham’s phone number during one of Trump’s campaign speeches. That led to a hilarious video from Graham. We’ll see how Trump reacts when he’s on the receiving end of this behavior.

Here’s one more Anonymous video explaining why the group is going after Trump.

Trump Claims Romney Would Have Traded Oral Sex for His Endorsement in 2012

Just when you thought the Republican presidential race couldn’t go any lower, Donald Trump said this today about former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, whom he endorsed in the 2012 presidential campaign:

TRUMP: “He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, ‘Mitt, drop to your knees,’ he would have dropped to his knees.”

Trump Only Won a Plurality of the GOP Latino Vote in Nevada

0.1%

In his victory speech after winning the Nevada caucuses, Donald Trump said, “And you know what I’m really happy about? No. 1 with Hispanics. I’m really happy about that.” It is true he got more votes than his rivals, but he won with a plurality. Bill Moyers writes, “In one of a number of fine interventions at MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out that something on the order of 1,800 Latinos voted in the Nevada GOP caucuses, of whom perhaps 800 voted for Trump, i.e. 44 percent of this tiny group. Trump lost the vote of even this small group of hard right Latinos, since 56 percent of them voted for someone else. There are 800,000 Latinos in the state of Nevada (pop. 2.8 million). In 2012, 70 percent of Latinos voted for Barack Obama, while Mitt Romney got 25 percent. My guess is that Trump can’t do as well among them as Romney did.” Eight hundred out of 800,000 is just 0.1%.

Trump’s ‘Dean Scream?’ – Turn out the Lights!

A protester briefly sabotaged a Trump rally yesterday by switching off the stage lights. Caught in the dark in mid-rant on the stage, Trump went first addressed the situation with sarcasm and then went into a rage — displaying the sort of seemingly erratic behavior that disqualified at least one candidate in the past.
