Trump’s OMB Pick Gave a Speech to the John Birch Society in July

I regularly speak to groups across the political spectrum because my constituents deserve access to their congressman. I can’t remember ever turning down an opportunity to speak to a group based on the group’s political ideology.

— Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), the ultra-conservative congressman tapped by Donald Trump to run the Office of Management and Budget, in response to South Carolina Democrats who criticized Mulvaney for appearing before the John Birch Society, reports Mother Jones.

Trump Cabinet’s Combined Wealth Equal to 43 Million Poorest Families in U.S.

$9.5 billion

Combined wealth of the 17 people President-elect Donald Trump has selected for his cabinet or for posts with cabinet rank, with several positions still unfilled, reports Quartz. “This collection of wealth is greater than that of the 43 million least wealthy American households combined—over one third of the 126 million households total in the U.S. … Affluence of this magnitude in a U.S. presidential cabinet is unprecedented.”

Help USS The Deplorables Set Sail

IMG_5807.JPGI’m usually not much of a joiner or a petition signer, but when there’s an issue I believe in, I will get behind it 100 percent.

So it is with a petition recently posted to the “We the People” site run by the White House. Someone called “D.S” has posted a petition to name the next available U.S. Navy ship USS The Deplorables. D.S. doesn’t go into a lot of detail, but suggests the name is “To honor those citizens who rose up to defend America and The Constitution from the globalists.”

Flynn Not Fit for National Security Adviser Due to Fake News

16

Number of times incoming Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn “has used social media to promote a series of outrageous conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama and their inner circles in recent months” since Aug. 9, Politico reports. “Flynn, who has 106,000 Twitter followers, has used the platform to retweet accusations that Clinton is involved with child sex trafficking and has ‘secretly waged war’ on the Catholic Church, as well as charges that Obama is a ‘jihadi’ who ‘laundered’ money for Muslim terrorists. … Now some say Flynn’s fondness for spreading fake news casts doubt on his fitness to serve as the White House’s national security adviser, suggesting that he either can’t spot a blatant falsehood or is just ideologically bent to believe the worst of his perceived enemies.”

Donald Voter Lost Her Home To His Treasury Nominee

Teena Colebrook regrets voting for Donald because of his pick for Treasury secretary

art-cabinet-of-deplorables-workTeena Colebrook, one of the few Californians who voted for Donald, is already deeply regretting her vote. She and others have contacted the Associated Press to express their horror of Donald’s pick for secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, whose former bank, OneWest, foreclosed on them unfairly, they say, after financial meltdown in 2008.

OneWest, a bank formerly owned by a group of investors headed by Mnuchin, had foreclosed on her Los Angeles-area home in the aftermath of the Great Recession, stripping her of the two units she rented as a primary source of income.

“I just wish that I had not voted,” said Colebrook, 59. “I have no faith in our government anymore at all. They all promise you the world at the end of a stick and take it away once they get in.”

Less than a month after his presidential win, Trump’s populist appeal has started to clash with a Cabinet of billionaires and millionaires that he believes can energize economic growth…

But the prospect of Mnuchin leading the Treasury Department prompted Colebrook and other OneWest borrowers who say they unfairly faced foreclosure to contact The Associated Press. Colebrook wishes she could meet with Trump to explain why she feels betrayed by his Cabinet selection after believing that his presidency could restore the balance of power to everyday people.

“He doesn’t want the truth,” she said. “He’s now backing his buddies.”

Trump’s Cabinet of Deplorables Looks Like One Ted Cruz Would Have Picked

If personnel is policy, most of Trump’s cabinet picks suggest he’ll govern more like a traditional, conservative Republican than a populist, big government or anti-establishment GOPer. Yes, senior advisor Steve Bannon and Michael Flynn, his pick for National Security Advisor, are controversial and potential bomb-throwers. But, the rest of his choice thus far are for more conventional. In fact, his cabinet picks thus far don’t look a whole lot different from those a President Ted Cruz would have chosen.
