Madonna Tops PETA’s Worst-Dressed List
Madonna and 60 chinchillas, after they were electrocuted and skinnedWe love the annual worst-dressed list issued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), not just for the light it shines on cruelty for the sake of vanity, but for its snark. This year’s list did not disappoint.
When you see Madonna in fur, you realize why nobody has copied her style since 1984. We know that she’s on the prowl for a young cub, but someone needs to tell Madge that wearing fur doesn’t make you a cougar.
Man! Good stuff.
Since fur adds 20 years and 20 pounds, maybe Mary Kate and Ashley [Olsen] think their matronly wardrobe will deflect the gossip about bulimia. Somewhere, someone is missing a matching pair of Bigfoot bobble head dolls.
Could not have said it better. But I suspect PETA is, like me, a Kanye West fan. They seemed to take it a little easier on him than the others.
Kanye rants about not winning Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, but what he really deserves is a “lifetime bereavement award” for all of the corpses in his closet. Kanye, we love the quirky suits, but you can’t claim to be “the voice of this generation” while flaunting fur, which is old school and cruel.
Yeah, Kanye and any other fur-wearers. Those skinned animals are screaming so loudly I can’t hear a word you say.
Rush’s Ego Almost Catches Up to His Waist
As Susie Green would say, “Rush, you fat f*ck!”It would appear that Rush Limbaugh’s recent spate of publicity is going to his fat head. How else to explain Rush’s obviously full-of-himself offer to Pres. Obama to appear on his show?
Get real.
“If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong,” said Limbaugh. “If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?”
Rush, do you realize (in the words of Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Susie Green character), you fat f*ck, that he is already the president of the United States? He probably doesn’t see winning an argument with you (which you would never concede no matter how poorly you showed) as the green light to “own” the United States. More likely, he already had something like that feeling on Nov. 4, 2008. And again on Jan. 20, 2009.
Maybe you and Ann Coulter should go off somewhere together and see if you can plot even more outrageous ways to get attention and adulation from your loser fan base. Try a bright, shiny object. They’ll probably be transfixed.
Button Your Shirt, Rush – No One Wants To See All That Skin

Others have looked at the substance, such as it was, in Rush Limbaugh’s “first national address” since ascension by fiat to head the Republican Party.
So let’s look at the style. Why did Rush Limbaugh show up with his shirt unbuttoned? Did he think he looked … sexy?
At BuzzFlash, Mark Karlin said “Limbaugh was dressed in black, as if he were the Pillsbury Doughboy trying to imitate Steven Seagal.” He added that that the CPAC crowd reminded him of the mass derangement scene in “Day of the Locust.”
Tom Watson at HuffPo described Rush as “[looking] for all the world like the sweating floor manager on the late afternoon shift at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club in an unbuttoned shiny black shirt and undersized sport coat…” And: “Jowls rolling like thunder from the right via CNN’s unfortunate high-definition feed, Limbaugh took control of the sad and tattered remnants of the mainstream conservative movement, and urged continued allegiance to the noble Lost Cause of Reagan, metaphorically carrying his rebel-yelling followers into the hills like modern-day Quantrill’s Raiders standing firm against change.”
Taking a contrary view, Tom Trento, a Dittohead at Red County, was complimentary, of course, “Rush is classic, even looked classic in his black-on-black, open collar, tieless ensemble (whoa, I’m starting to sound like one of those designers!)” But: “Note to Rush: get back on the salads and veggies, the movement needs you around a bit longer.”
Jindal Admits Statement in GOP Response to President’s Speech Was False
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s performance delivering the Republicans’ response to Pres. Obama’s address to Congress last week was widely panned, even in his own party. Now he has revealed that an anecdote he used to illustrate his party’s belief that government regulation is deadly was false:
Remember that story Bobby Jindal told in his big speech Tuesday night — about how during Katrina, he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with a local sheriff who was battling government red tape to try to rescue stranded victims?
Turns out it wasn’t actually, you know, true…
Jindal had described being in the office of Sheriff Harry Lee “during Katrina,” and hearing him yelling into the phone at a government bureaucrat who was refusing to let him send volunteer boats out to rescue stranded storm victims, because they didn’t have the necessary permits. Jindal said he told Lee, “that’s ridiculous,” prompting Lee to tell the bureaucrat that the rescue effort would go ahead and he or she could arrest both Lee and Jindal.
But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone “days later.” The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time.
Jindal’s story was meant to illustrate the premise that government regulation causes deadly problems — and to make himself appear to have been a hero during the crisis. As it happens, neither assertion was true.
Another unusual aspect to Jindal’s story was that at the time of the disaster, all three branches of the government were under control of his party, including the Congress, where Jindal served in the House of Representatives.

OC GOP Mayor Caught Sending Racist Email about Obama

Despite its reputation for liberal politics and embracing diversity, California is also home to bastions of ignorance and racism. Not coincidentally, these so-called “red counties” are invariably dominated by the Republican Party.
For example, during the election last year, Diane Fedele, the president of Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated in inland Riverside County, sent an email blast that contained a graphic showing “Obama Bucks,” which depicted Barack Obama’s face on a food stamps certificate, along with a bucket of fried chicken, ribs, Kool-Aid and a slice of watermelon.
Now Dean Grose, the Republican mayor of Los Alamitos in Orange County is under fire for sending an email that shows the White House lawn planted with watermelons, with the headline, “No Easter egg hunt this year”:
Local businesswoman and city volunteer Keyanus Price, who is black, said Tuesday that she received the e-mail from Mayor Dean Grose’s personal account Sunday and wants a public apology.
“I have had plenty of my share of chicken and watermelon and all those kinds of jokes,” Price said. “I honestly don’t even understand where he was coming from, sending this to me. As a black person receiving something like this from the city freakin’ mayor — come on.”
…Grose confirmed to the Associated Press that he sent the e-mail to Price and said he didn’t mean to offend her. He said he was unaware of the racial stereotype that black people like watermelons.
He said he and Price are friends and serve together on a community youth board.
“Bottom line is, we laugh at things and I didn’t see this in the same light that she did,” Grose said. “I’m sorry. It wasn’t sent to offend her personally — or anyone — from the standpoint of the African American race.”
Grose, who became mayor in December, said he sent an apology e-mail to Price and her boss and also left her a voice-mail apology.
Regardless, Price said it will be difficult for the two to work together.
“Now I am like — wow, is this really how he feels?” Price said.
Both Mayor Grose and Diane Fedele claimed ignorance about food-related African-American stereotyping. While it’s true that there are very few black residents in either Riverside County (which is 6.24 percent African American) or Orange County (where less than 2 percent of residents are blacks), this prompts the question: If they weren’t amused by the racial stereotyping, what was it about these graphics that compelled them to send them to their friends and co-workers.
Quote du Jour

— Steve Schale (1975 – ), Democratic consultant and chair of Obama’s Florida campaign, reacting to the president’s speech on the stimulus plan
So-Called Liberal Media Skews Obama Approval Ratings…Downward
That pesky liberal media is at it again. Here’s the headline from CNN:
68% Give Obama Speech a Thumbs-Up
Hmmm…so if 68 percent liked it, then I guess 32 percent didn’t, right? Wrong. Actually, almost everyone liked it.
Sixty-eight percent of speech-watchers questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey had a very positive reaction, with 24 percent indicating that they had a somewhat positive response and 8 percent indicating that they had a negative reaction.
Hold on, 68 percent were very positive, while another 24 percent were somewhat positive? So 92 percent were positive? But the headline says only 68 percent gave the speech a “thumbs-up.”
In fact, only 8 percent gave it a thumbs-down. But wait, there’s more.
Eighty-five percent of those polled said the president’s speech made them more optimistic about the direction the country is headed in over the next few years, with 11 percent indicating that the speech made them more pessimistic.
Eighty-two percent of speech-watchers say they support the economic plan Obama outlined in his prime-time address, with 17 percent opposing the proposal.
Yes, 85 percent said the speech made them feel more optimistic and 82 percent say they support it. And yet, we were told that only 68 percent give it a “thumbs-up.”
If that was the liberal media, I guess we can expect this headline from FOX:
Just Over Half of Americans Like Obama Plan
