Romney Didn’t Create Jobs

Where Massachusetts ranked nationwide in job creation while Mitt Romney was governor. Romney claims to have lowered unemployment by almost 1% but a study by Northeastern University attributes this to 220,000 workers leaving the state. On the campaign trail, Romney says, “The governor before me lost jobs; the governor after me has lost jobs; we actually created jobs.” The first part is technically true (although, as stated, Massachusetts lagged the rest of the country), but the last part is incorrect.

Bachmann’s Campaign Wardrobe Malfunction
O.K., seriously? Michele Bachmann is starting to remind me more of Katherine Harris with each passing day. Could someone please get with her about appropriate attire for campaigning for the office of President of the United States? And before everyone slams me for being sexist…Seriously Michele Bachmann?
Christian Racist on Huckabee Cruise: ‘We Didn’t Like Seeing [Obama] Get Elected Because of His Race’
Mike Huckabee, the Baptist preacher, Fox News host and former governor of Arkansas, hosted 250 true believers on a cruise to Alaska. Adam Haslett, a writer for Prospect, went along to report on the trip. His report includes this encounter with two of Huckabee’s Christianist followers:
Maggie Benedict and Jinx Drda from suburban St Louis were also greatly disappointed to hear Huckabee had bowed out of the presidential race. They’ve always voted but it wasn’t until Obama’s victory that they became more active in politics.
“It’s the first time I’ve felt the president wasn’t a true American,” Maggie says. “And that he wants to become a dictator. We didn’t like seeing him get elected because of his race.”
Hey Michele, Do You Pray to Jesus with Those Lying Lips?
USA Today’s Susan Page is a straight-shooter, one of those reporters who generally puts the lie to Republican dogma that the establishment media is in the bag for Democrats and liberals. But in an appearance on MSNBC’s “Hardball” yesterday, her review of the launch of Michele Bachmann’s presidential bid suggests that Page has been inside the Beltway too long:
SUSAN PAGE: She’s had a great launch. You know, she’s better known now. She’s had — she did an almost flawless performance at the first big debate. She had a very nice announcement. A few hiccups in the interviews she did afterwards but she has become the leading alternative to Mitt Romney and the representative of the tea party.
What’s telling here is that Page mentions the “hiccups,” the gaffes Bachmann has made (see below), but ignores the fact that she has been caught lying over the past few days about the fact that she is a major recipient of American taxpayers’ largess.
For example, as Susan Page surely must have known when she praised Bachmann’s campaign roll-out yesterday, Bachmann lied with impunity (of course) on the Republican Party propaganda show, “Fox News Sunday,” when she was asked about thousands of dollars in income from socialist sources she listed on her financial disclosure forms:

And, yes, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is now the most unpopular Republican holding elected office, according to a Bloomberg poll. Only Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin are less popular.
At about the 3:00 mark, O’Donnell runs a clip from May 31 of a right-wing radio show host based in St. Augustine kicking an establishment Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson off his show after the pol weaseled around and would not come out in support of the Ryan plan. In many states, this politician’s astoundingly bad performance would be a career-ender. With his Mediterranean cruise and its fallout — the abrupt departure of his senior campaign staff — behind him, Gingrich finally showed up in Iowa over the weekend to campaign for the GOP presidential nomination.
Iowa is one of a handful of states where gay marriage is legal, so naturally reporters asked the thrice-married Gingrich for his take on the legalization of marriage equality in New York Friday night. He replied:
