Trump Approval Slides in Rural Areas

The Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll finds President Trump’s popularity is eroding in small towns and rural communities where 15 percent of the country’s population lives. In September, 47% of people in non-metro areas approved of Trump while 47% disapproved. That is down from Trump’s first four weeks in office, when 55% said they approved of the president while 39% disapproved.

Pence’s Football Outing Cost Nearly a Quarter-Million

CNN: “How much did Vice President Mike Pence’s trip to Indianapolis to watch — and then abruptly leave — a football game Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers cost? … Here is an estimate of just the air costs (which does not include costs of advance personnel, Secret Service or support on the ground): According to the Air Force, flying a C-32, the model of plane used for Air Force 2, for one hour costs about $30,000. Pence’s flight from Las Vegas to Indianapolis Saturday took about three hours and 20 minutes, so it cost about $100,000. Pence then flew from Indianapolis to Los Angeles on Sunday, which took about four hours and 45 minutes, costing about $142,500. … The grand total: about $242,500.”

Reminder: Donald Also Admitted He Sexually Harasses Women

Republicans and their media lapdogs are having a field day over movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s admissions that he sexual harassed actresses and female employees — trotting out the old “boeth sides do it” trope because Weinstein has contributed heavily to Democratic Party causes and candidates.

They conveniently forget that in the infamous “Access Hollywood” video, which surfaced one year ago this month, Donald Trump also admitted that he routinely uses his celebrity status to sexually harasses women. Since then 11 women have come forward with accusations against him.

Dissatisfaction with Republicans Is Growing

A new USA Today/Suffolk University poll finds that voters’ assessment of the Republican Party has plummeted to 62% unfavorable/23% favorable, significantly changed from the 55% unfavorable/32% favorable registered in a June poll. The Democratic Party recorded a 48% unfavorable/37% favorable rating in the most recent poll. Said pollster David Paleologos: “The Republican Party is in freefall. In March the GOP had a 48% unfavorable rating, in June the negative swelled to 55%. Today the GOP unfavorable is 62%. What’s next?”
