Dick Morris Deserved to Be Fired by FOX News for Being an Incompetent Pundit
I’m not a big one for Schadenfreude but I confess to feeling a little frisson on hearing the news that Dick Morris was not getting his contract renewed by Fox News. It’s not that I wish Morris ill tidings; it’s that I want pundits to be held accountable for their incorrect forecasts… Morris’ [2012] performance earned him the title of ‘Worst Pundit of 2012’ by Pundit Tracker. That’s an impressive achievement considering all the competition. In mathematical terms, Morris was wrong 80% in his prognostications: if you had placed a dollar bet on each Morris prediction in a prediction market, you would have lost 70% of your money.

Hope for 2013

For the sake of argument, let’s say there are no coincidences in this world (an idea otherwise known as Trish’s Law of No Coincidences).
If you disagree, then please explain to me how Americans choose the name “Hope” for the young Clydesdale featured in the 2013 Budweiser Super Bowl ad, which was born the weekend of Pres. Obama’s second inauguration.
Obama, for those who missed the last five years of history, has been needled and scorned by both Republicans and Democrats, by late-night comedians and old movie stars (O.K., maybe just Clint Eastwood), by Sarah Palin (“How’s that hopey-changy thing working for ya?”) and Hillary Clinton, all for his message of hope.
Will CNN Shred Its Credibility by Hiring Dick Morris? He Says They’re in Talks
But stay tuned. It has been confirmed that he is out at Fox, but the source for the story that he’s been hired by CNN is as unreliable as they get — it’s Morris himself.
North Carolina’s New Tea Party Majority Puts Higher Education in the Crosshairs

Predictably, however, the newly empowered Republicans in North Carolina have begun to do what their GOP colleagues in other states have done when voters put them in charge — they are overreaching.
McCrory caused a firestorm among Democrats and other fans of higher learning last week in an interview on a right-wing radio show hosted by George Bush Sr.’s drug czar, Bill Bennett, by attacking one of North Carolina’s most historic success stories — its public universities and community college system:

Tagg Romney Quits Senate Race While Still Ahead
I have been humbled by the outreach I received this weekend encouraging me to become a candidate for the US Senate, but the timing just doesn’t work.
— Tagg Romney, in an email to ABC News, conceding his campaign for U.S. Senate before the embarrassment of another Romney election loss.
Kerry Praises Outgoing Clinton
As the saying goes, I have big heels to fill.

Obama Popularity Rising Among Hispanics
70%
President Obama’s average job approval rating among Hispanics in January, 12 percentage points higher than in August. That compares with a seven-point increase among all Americans over the same period, according tom Gallup.
Don Rickles Diplomacy
Senator John McCain proves, time and again, that he’s nobody’s flunkey.
Indeed, he’s shown us, time and again, that he can be downright spunky.
But in international politics
It’s not diplomatic — just for kicks —
To equate the Iranian president with an orbiting space monkey.
