Dems Hammer Romney on Swiss Banks Accounts
Americans need to ask themselves: why does an American businessman need a Swiss bank account and secretive investments like that?
— DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, quoted by Politico, turning up the heat on Mitt Romney’s investment disclosure.
With Friends Like Boehner …
The American people probably aren’t going to fall in love with Mitt Romney. I’ll tell you this: 95 percent of the people that show up to vote in November are going to show up in that voting booth, and they are going to vote for or against Barack Obama. Mitt Romney has some friends, relatives and fellow Mormons … some people that are going to vote for him. But that’s not what this election is about. This election is going to be a referendum on the president’s failed economic policies.
— House Speaker John Boehner, quoted by Roll Call.
Declaration of Incendiary
It’s just one of our American perks,
To behave like pusillanimous jerks.
They’re dirty and loud,
But they prove that we’re proud —
And that’s why we set off fireworks.
Does Wishing the South Had Won the Civil War Make Ted Nugent a Racist?
I’m beginning to wonder if it would have been best had the South won the Civil War.
One-hit wonder Ted Nugent, somehow relating the Supreme Court decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act to the Civil War, which nearly ended the United States and split the nation in two. Perhaps Nugent is trying to say that two Americas, one liberal and one conservative, would be more harmonious. Or perhaps he’s trying to say that he’s a big ol’ fat stupid racist.
Pot No-Calls Kettle
In an election we should expect sneak attacks,
And candidates getting stabbed in the back.
But not by Morgan Freeman,
Who turned out to be a mean one —
He said our first black president ain’t black!
