$400,000
“The national Republican Party has accepted nearly $400,000 in donations from disgraced ex-casino mogul Steve Wynn — a move that comes just over a year after he was accused of sexually harassing or assaulting employees over a decade-long period,” Politico reports.
$1.8 million
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) “had the best fundraising quarter of her life in 2018, boosted in part by her decision to support Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court,” the HuffPost reports. “Collins raised $1.8 million in the last quarter of the year, but just $19,000 of that money came in itemized donations ? contributions of $200 or more ? from residents of Maine.”
$129 million
“President Trump’s campaign and affiliated committees raised more than $21 million in the final three months of 2018, entering the presidential election cycle with a massive head start just as a wide-open Democratic field begins to take shape,” the Washington Post reports. “The latest fundraising disclosures bring the total haul for Trump’s reelection effort to more than $129 million, a record amount for a sitting president at this point in the election cycle. The campaign had more than $19.2 million in cash on hand by the end of 2018, according to new Federal Election Commission filings made public Thursday night.”
$100 million
“President Trump has topped $100 million in fundraising for his 2020 reelection bid — an enormous haul for a president barely two years into his first term,” the Washington Post reports. “Trump pulled in more than $18 million last quarter through his campaign committee and two joint fundraising committees with the Republican National Committee, for a total of at least $106 million since January 2017, according to his campaign and federal filings.”
“The Republican National Committee raised more than $100 million in the first nine months of 2017, marking the first time it has raised that much, that fast, in a non-presidential election year,” McClatchy reports.
$75 million
Politico: “Over the first six months of 2017, the Republican National Committee pulled in $75 million—nearly twice as much money as the Democratic National Committee, which raised $38 million. … During that same six-month time span, the RNC raised $33 million in small contributions—money from people who donate $200 or less over an election cycle—while that same class of donors gave the DNC just $21 million.”
$2 million
CNN: “At least $2 million in contributions promised to the National Republican Senatorial Committee have failed to materialize because donors are expressing frustration with the Senate GOP’s inability to fulfill their central campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, according to two GOP sources familiar with the matter.”
$5,000
Amount the Wall Street Journal reports Trump’s transition team “is offering supporters a rare opportunity: breakfast in New York with the next president for $5,000 — pocket change for many of the team’s wealthy fundraisers. Wall Street investors and lobbyists top the list of fundraisers for next week’s event, which is expected to raise $4 million.”
10
Of the top 50 Republican donors from the 2014 cycle “have so far contributed at least $1 million to the presidential hopefuls and the outside groups that can raise unlimited sums on their behalf,” Politico reports. “Meanwhile, 45 deep-pocketed donors who didn’t give much in 2014 have stepped up and written those checks early in the race.”
$15 million
Amount “two low-profile Texas brothers” have donated to support Sen. Ted Cruz, “a record-setting contribution that amounts to the largest known donation so far in the 2016 presidential campaign,” CNN reports.
