Yes, you could help the victims of Hurricane Harvey through the Red Cross or United Way but in our personal experience, a lot of what you give to those types of agencies will be spun off to cover overhead that might or might not be essential.

Long weeks after Hurricane Matthew turned my community upside down, Red Cross trucks finally appeared on neighborhood streets offering sandwiches and snacks. Of course by the time they showed up, most of us not only had our water, power, and even wi-fi back, but we were more than capable of visiting one of our many, by then, fully functioning grocery stores.

Most Find Trump’s Behavior Alarming

A new George Washington University Battleground Poll finds there is widespread national concern about President Trump’s public discourse and behavior. Key finding: The survey found that 71% of voters agreed his “behavior is not what I expect from a president” (27% disagreed), and 68% agreed his “words and actions could get us accidentally involved in an international conflict” (29% disagreed). Also striking: Almost two-thirds (63%) of the registered voters polled said the country is on the wrong track, and a majority (56%) had an unfavorable view of President Trump (41% favorable).
