Honestly, people are definitely dumber. They just keep passing stuff around. Nobody fact-checks anything anymore — I mean, that’s how Trump got elected. He just said whatever he wanted, and people believed everything, and when the things he said turned out not to be true, people didn’t care because they’d already accepted it. It’s real scary. I’ve never seen anything like it. … My sites were picked up by Trump supporters all the time. I think Trump is in the White House because of me. His followers don’t fact-check anything — they’ll post everything, believe anything. His campaign manager posted my story about a protester getting paid $3,500 as fact. Like, I made that up. I posted a fake ad on Craigslist.

Additionally, 17% reported that social media helped alter their perspective on a specific candidate. Democrats were found to be more likely than Republicans to say that they changed their views because of social media.
Majority Accepts Trump’s Win

Of all Americans say they accept the election of Donald Trump as legitimate while 18% do not, according to a new Washington Post-ABC poll. A 58% majority of Clinton supporters say they accept Trump’s election, while 33% do not.
Sanders ‘Not Surprised’ by Election Outcome
I am saddened, but not surprised, by the outcome. It is no shock to me that millions of people who voted for Mr. Trump did so because they are sick and tired of the economic, political and media status quo.

After Donald Trump was hit with scandal after scandal the bookie was confident of Hillary’s chances — prompting the whopping payout. But Clinton’s campaign took a late hit thanks to the reopened FBI investigation which resulted in a huge surge in bets for The Donald.
