CBO Now Says Trump’s Megabill Will Add $4.1 Trillion to Deficit
$4.1 trillion
“Interest rates will be higher over the next decade because of the GOP’s megabill and drive up borrowing costs even for the federal government, Congress’ nonpartisan scorekeeper predicts in a new report released Monday,” Politico reports. “In a final “dynamic” analysis of the bill President Donald Trump signed into law on July 4, the Congressional Budget Office estimated the measure will increase the federal deficit by $4.1 trillion over a decade.”
Trump Administration’s Deficit Forecast Is Waaaaay Off
$9.5 trillion
“The Congressional Budget Office estimates the government will take in $1.9 trillion less in revenue and spend $300 billion more over the next decade than the White House estimated under its latest budget proposal if the plan were enacted,” the Wall Street Journal reports. “Deficits would total $9.5 trillion over the coming decade, or $2.3 trillion more than the White House estimates.”
CBO? What CBO?
The Trumpcare bill pits Republicans either against or for it,
But Trump’s not waiting for the Congressional Budget Office to score it.
He thinks that by rushing,
Opposition they are crushing
And when the negative CBO report comes out, he’ll just ignore it.
