He wants to change from “Defense” to “War,”
And we can only wonder what we’re in for,
As, like most Americans, we become fearful, chronic worriers.
This Israel-Iran-U.S.-Qatar situation is really a downer.
Iran matched bombs dropped with missiles in the encounter.
As rockets, bombs and lies get lobbed,
You’ve got to figure the world’s worst job
Is being a professional Iranian bomb counter.
“Nobody came to my birthday parade — poor, pitiful me.
“Then Bibi got all the Iran glory from my friends on Fox TV.
“You wouldn’t like it if it happened to you,
“But what’s a gonna-be dictator to do?
“I wanted all the attention, so I started World War III.”
I wake up every morning wanting to be the best that I can be,
But circumstances always seem to conspire against me.
I really want to be good,
But Trump runs the ‘hood,
So every night I look in the mirror and say, “I’m so sorry.”
So now Donald’s joined Bibi in bombing Iran,
After the spies said there’s no nukes in the can.
Oh, for goodness sake,
Don’t they remember yellowcake?
Or is this just another Iraq all over again?
To reality, Florida’s government is not very tightly tethered.
To save us from cloud seeds and chem trails they have endeavored.
So if you think it’s too hot,
And you want to change it — better not!
In the Free State of Florida it’s now illegal to modify the weather.
Trump conducts foreign policy like a reality TV show,
On bombing Iran: “I may do it. I may not do it. Nobody knows …”
The fake suspense is the thing,
And like puppets on a string,
The media obediently record Trump’s swaggering braggadocio.
Trump and the Iranians seem to be in different realities,
Though they share a callousness toward the war’s casualties.
Is Trump insane
Or just insanely vain?
And how can we extract ourselves from his “Quagmire of the Vanities?”
