I hope you faithful Pensito Reviewers appreciate my sacrifice in bringing you these crowd shots from Mitt Romney’s appearance in St. Augustine, Fla. on Monday, Aug. 13. I had to get up at 6 a.m. — that’s 6 in the morning, people! — to start my day with a bunch of rabid Republicans and tea partiers.
I wanted to stick around for the speechifying by Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Gov. Rick Scott, Sen. Marco Rubio, and of course, Willard himself but the speakers started late (you’d think Republicans would be on time and Democrats would run late), and going on three hours in, I wanted to flee the scene. The vibe was decidedly “We’re taking our country back,” and since I’m the one they’re trying to take it back from, it wasn’t pleasant.
But do enjoy these shots. I made them just for you.

Hey Trish — Thanks for the sacrifice! One question: in the lede photo, is that Keith Olbermann in the blue polo and khakis?
How many people at the event? Drudge, etc. always hype the #s
Gosh Buck, I think it is! I should have gotten his autograph for Jon!
Paula, there was a bunch. Our local paper said “thousands” but I would say more like one of those thousands and some (small) change. And about a hundred or more were local politicians and candidates for office. Every single name on the ballot, even the few Democrats we have around here, was there.
Trish…you are a stalwart! Thanks for holding your nose and taking our medicine. AV
Thank you for Trish Ponder, you’re a braver woman that I :)
You GOT UP at 6 and you call that early?
I get up at3:30 and am clocked in and working already at 6!
On the up side though, I get off by 2:30 P.M.
AV, mmmuuuuah!
