Budget Deficit Is Exploding
$100.5 billion
“The U.S. recorded a $100.5 billion budget deficit in October, an increase of about 60 percent from a year earlier, as spending grew twice as fast as revenue,” Bloomberg reports. “A ballooning U.S. budget shortfall — fueled by tax cuts, spending hikes and an aging population — is driving the Treasury Department to raise its long-term debt issuance.”
Trump’s Terrible European Vacation
“Trump’s European Vacation was as bad as the movie. He wimped out of honoring our fallen troops because of a misting. He moped around in his hotel room and insulted fire victims. And he was scorched by the French President. This is not winning. This is a national embarrassment.”
— Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), on Twitter.
Most Democrats Think Republicans Are Sexist, Racist
61%
A new Axios/Survey Monkey poll finds 61% of Democrats see Republicans as “racist/bigoted/sexist.” Meanwhile, 31% of Republicans say they view Democrats in the same light. ”If Americans are this convinced that the other side isn’t just wrong, but dumb and evil, they’ll never be able to find enough common ground to solve real problems. And they’re more likely to elect leaders who can’t do it, either.”
Just in Time for Xmas — The Trumpy Bear
You want to feel sorry for Trump supporters getting ripped off for a $40 stuffed animal, but after watching the pure happiness depicted in the ad for a Trumpy Bear, the pity evaporates. Let the MAGA folks waste their disability checks if they so desire. The rest of us can look for the discarded bears in the trash and “play” with them accordingly.
The Trumpy Bear comes with hair like its namesake that can be brushed lovingly, a secret compartment for an American flag facsimile blanket (can someone explain the word, “desecration” to these folks?), and a certificate of authenticity, which buyers will want to frame and hang on their wall, just under the portrait of Trump, Palin, Nugent and Kid Rock at the White House.
Hurry, supplies — like the days left in our democracy — are limited.
Trump Thumped: Dems’ Net Gain in the House Is Biggest Since 1976

Don’t be like the “liberal media” and fall for Trump’s BS. He and the GOP took a thumpin’ and a shellacking on Tuesday. According to the Brookings institute, the Democrats’ net gain in the U.S. House of Representatives was the largest since Pres. Jimmy Carter was elected in 1976.

What If Beto Ran Against Trump?
“The Democrats don’t have anybody like him. I’ve seen all of them. They don’t have anyone of his caliber on the national stage. I pray for the soul of anyone who has to run against him in Iowa in 453 days.”
— Ted Cruz’s strategist Jeff Roe, quoted by Politico, on Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s (D-TX) chances if he ran for president in 2020.
Ivanka Trump Gets China Trademark Approval for Voting Booths

Reuters reported today that China has issued 16 trademarks for President Trump’s daughter Ivanka in the past two months — including one for voting machines!
The group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington made the findings about the new China trademarks in a Monday statement, and said it was the largest number of new Chinese trademarks her company has received in a single month since her father took office.
The latest China trademarks cover things like shoes and jewelry, but also more offbeat items like voting machines and nursing homes, according to a search of records on the Chinese State Administration for Industry and Commerce’s Trademark office.
The trademarks were applied for in 2016.
Which got me thinking, what would an ad campaign for a Trump-branded voting booth look like, which inspired me to write a little advertising copy:

Voiceover: Deep female voice with indistinct Eastern European accent
