O.K., so Sen. Al Franken’s call to action to stop cable and internet providers from creating two tiers of internet access (premium and crappy) might have been the poster child for dull and boring explanations.
But Last Week Tonight host John Oliver explained the issue in such gripping terms that viewer response crashed the Federal Communications Commission’s public comment site.
Watch it yourself and then make your own contribution to slowing down internet access to the FCC…kind of like what will happen on all but the highest-dollar sites if the FCC lets the cable companies have their way.

More Americans Support Benghazi Probe
51%
Of Americans approve of the new congressional Benghazi investigation, while 42% disapprove, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows. “Those supporting the new investigation include 72% of Republicans, but they also include 31% of Democrats and a majority — 52% — of political independents.”… “The reason Americans want an investigation? Because they don’t believe Democrats when they say that all the questions have been answered.”
Getting Out the Pot-Head Vote
Cannabis clubs in San Jose are offering free pot and discounts to patients who go to the polls Tuesday and vote in several contested races. The Silicon Valley Cannabis Coalition is organizing the Weed for Votes program as an effort to increase voter turnout at Tuesday’s election.

NRA Points Out That Shooters Aren’t Shooters Just Because They Shoot Someone — Thanks, NRA!
Leave it to the National Rifle Association to define propaganda in a video that could be the poster child for propaganda. The NRA thinks the news media, or “entertainment,” should not call murderers “shooters” if they shoot a gun and thereby kill somebody. Unless, I suppose, the media starts differentiating between shooters, stranglers, stabbers, bludgeoners, electrocuters, poisoners and vehiculers.
And who knew there was something called “NRA News?” Is it “media” or “entertainment?” It’s not very entertaining, but then again, it’s not exactly reportage, either.
