The amount in state funds Mitt Romney spent to replace computers in his office at the end of his term as governor of Massachusetts in 2007 as part of an unprecedented effort to keep his records secret, according to Reuters: “The move during the final weeks of Romney’s administration was legal but unusual for a departing governor, Massachusetts officials say.”
Obama: Ryan’s Rand Obsession Is Juvenile
Well, you’d have to ask Paul Ryan what that means to him. Ayn Rand is one of those things that a lot of us, when we were 17 or 18 and feeling misunderstood, we’d pick up. Then, as we get older, we realize that a world in which we’re only thinking about ourselves and not thinking about anybody else … that’s a pretty narrow vision. It’s not one that, I think, describes what’s best in America. Unfortunately, it does seem as if sometimes that vision of a “you’re on your own” society has consumed a big chunk of the Republican Party.

Mormons Etch-A-Sketched Away Their Longstanding Ban on Allowing African Americans to Join Their Cult – We’re Seeing a Similar Abrupt Rewriting of History from the Romney Campaign
A line in the song “I Believe” from the inexplicably wildly popular musical “Book of Mormon” says, ”And I believe that in 1978 God changed his mind about black people!!” The line is a reference to the fact that in 1978, the Salt Lake City-based cult lifted a 126-year-old ban on allowing people of African descent from joining the church in any meaningful way — they could join and tithe, but they were forbidden from taking part in the secret rituals or enjoying the fruits of a righteous life in the afterlife, so why bother.
Cult dogma offered various reasons for banning black people over the years. One of the most popular of these was that Africans were descendants of Cain, whom God had punished by giving them dark skin and, presumably, curly hair.
So what happened in 1978 to change the cult’s mythology about black people? Nothing really. Cult leaders just shook their holy Etch-A-Sketch and voilà:
Racist Romney Surrogate: Colin Powell Endorsed Obama Because of Allegiance to His Race
On CNN last night, John Sununu, George H.W. Bush’s disgraced former chief of staff, interjected another racist insult into the presidential campaign yesterday by asserting that George W. Bush’s secretary of state, Colin Powell, put allegiance to his race ahead of his professional and political judgment when he endorsed Pres. Obama:
Sununu:And frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.
Morgan: What reason would that be?
Sununu: Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being president of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.
Earlier this month, Sununu described the president as lazy and unintelligent.
