By his sixth debate, you’d think Rick Perry would be free
Of the perception that he can’t debate effectively.
But when stating his vision for smaller government,
He couldn’t recall the name of the energy department.
But hey, give him credit — he did get two out of three!
Less than a week after being honored for his “family values” by a hate group, tea bagger congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois, an infamous deadbeat dad, was caught on tape having a meltdown during a meeting with constituents in a bar. Walsh, who owes over $100,000 in child support, spent tens of thousands of his own money to get elected to the House in 2010.
Here’s a slice of democracy in action, tea bagger style:
Republicans talk big about country and God,
But fiscally, it’s on the poor that they trod.
It’s like they’re on a crusade
To make sure the wealthy get paid —
Like they’ve declared an anti-tax jihad!*

Republicans won control of the Virginia Senate — by less than 100 votes, apparently — but in just about every other race, they took a drubbing:
In Ohio, GOP Gov. John Kasich’s union-stripping measure went down, 61 percent to 39 percent. In a statement after the vote was called, Kasich acknowledged the loss, “It’s clear the people have spoken. I heard their voices. I understand their decision. And frankly, I respect what the people have to say in an effort like this. And as a result of that, it requires me to take a deep breath and to spend some time to reflect on what happened here.”
In Mississippi, the “every sperm is sacred” anti-abortion law was defeated, 58 percent to 42 percent — a win for women’s reproductive choice that came as something of a surprise.
From Trump’s “stolen election” lies, we can’t get no relief,
He carps on about stolen votes, but he never names the thief.
Somebody needs to tell this guy
Americans aren’t buying his lies,
And that he’s turned us into the United States of Disbelief.
