Some of Romney’s Best Friends are Corporations

Corporations are people, my friend.

Mitt Romeny, pretty boy rich guy Mormon Republican presidential candidate, explaining to an Iowa State Fair goer why corporate profits shouldn’t be taxed to help pay for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Romney was the recent recipient of $1 million from a donor who incorporated in order to avoid being personally identified, made the gift, then unincorporated. Such moves are legal under the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

  1. The title really say it all. The same could be said of the entire GOP, they represent their “friends'” interest before actual people. To the GOP, making money (large corporations only, my friend) is top priority. It doesn’t matter that people—actual flesh and blood people’s health and welfare (well being!) are negatively affected. Clean air, water, soil, wildlife seem mere quaint ideals easily discarded if some monetary profit were to be made by some select group.

Corporations are fast becoming ‘supra people’, entities that have no laws (regulations) guiding their behavior. For the largest corporations, no taxes to pay, unlimited monetary influence over elections, manipulate the judicial system with their deep pockets, can hide behind the veil of incorporation, are welcomed to actually write legislation (ALEC) to be fast-tracked (mostly in GOP/Tea Party controlled states), and they don’t even have to employ American citizens (PEOPLE)! Some of these corporations even get subsidized to send jobs overseas and even get subsidies (WELFARE) just for being extremely profitable (oil companies for example).

To the GOP, We the “People” are mere “labor commodities” of the corporate class. Corporations get ALL the benefits, commoditized people only get the liability.
