Florida Governor Jeb Bush is learning from his big brother. “If you have anything to say,” W. must have told him, “never say it in front of unbiased people. Make sure they’re all on your side first.”
The Florida Republican Party on Saturday called security to eject reporters listening to Gov. Jeb Bush tout his party’s accomplishments in Tallahassee.
The unusual scene – five hotel security staffers and a sheriff’s deputy escorting reporters away from where they could hear the governor – occurred in the middle of a speech in which Bush exhorted party activists to spread the word of Republican successes in Florida.
“I apologize for that if I’m indirectly responsible, which I’m not,” Bush said after addressing Republican activists gathered at Disney for a party meeting…
Way to accept responsibility like a grown-up, Jeb.

How ludicrous was it? Picture this: Before Jeb spoke, half a dozen young men in dark suits frantically looking through the ballroom, as if Osama himself might be lurking: “Find Bill Cotterell! Has anyone seen Bill Cotterell?! He could still be in there!”
Or this: An overwrought reporter (yours truly) accosting legislators in the hall, demanding they explain why their party would bar the press from hearing the governor. “No comment. I have no comment on that,” poor Sen. Durrell Peadon said, looking like he could have been leaving a grand jury proceeding.
The Lake Buena Vista Four included Windy March of the [Tampa] Tribune, the [Tallahassee] Democrat’s Cotterell, Jeremy Wallace of the [Southwest Florida] Herald-Tribune, and your Buzz correspondent.
Almost all Conservatives are bully cowards. They usually come from families with unloving parents who abused them, neglected them, treated them like property, or tried to live vicariously through them.
So these adults on the emotionally mature level of a 6 yr old can’t handle facts, fairness, etc… So they use fear to try and impose their will. If you stand up to them you stop them in their tracks. (ie; stand there and when touched, make a citizen’s arrest or knock them out in self defense.)
For those in small bible belt towns, stand up to these people EVERYWHERE. YOu are a silent majority. When these creeps break the law, defend yourself or lock them up and throw away the key.
It isn’t that simple, Big Dave from Queens. Dissenters of Bush policy are systematically being identified and accused of being a threat to national security. There are those who will fight with no fear of the consequences. But is it necessary to retaliate in an atmosphere of civil war between citizens of this country and the Bush Admministration? What are our choices to protect our civil rights? Neither the left nor the right are going to address or guarantee honest elections. Until this issue is resolved, expect more abuses of power, lies, and crimes against humanity.
What’s sad is that there are no “journalists” out there with both the desire and the ability to make this a story. The ones that have the clout to put a disgusting, Peron-like maneuver like this on the front pages above the fold and headline stories on the news don’t have the desire to do it — they would prefer to suck up to power than speak truth to it, and by doing so, maintain their all-important “access” and protect their six-figure corporate paycheck.
The few hard-working, in-the-trenches reporters who still deserve the moniker of “journalist” don’t have the clout to “unspike” an important story and would just be giving up their paychecks and endangering their families if they forced the issue.
We slowly slide towards an ugly 1984 where the neo-con Republicans (with no morals and no concern for civil liberties, human rights, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights) control the Executive, the Legislative, the Judicial, the Administrative, the Military, the Police, and the Media. They will control communications, commerce, and travel.
I urge Americans who are sick-and-tired of these corporation-serving slimeballs to GO TO THE STREETS on January 31, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. and EXPRESS YOUR OUTRAGE.
