Is Karl Rove gay? Geez, I hope not. He has certainly never activated my gaydar – but then I’m not sure it works on other species. But I was googling around today and came upon this story, which I pass along for your amusement:

Walter Storch, editor of the Barnes Review News reported three weeks ago that “Karl Rove was seen by one of my people entering a private homosexual orgy at a five-star Washington hotel over the Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) weekend last year.” [2004]

A Barnes reporter told Storch that “Karl greatly enjoyed the supervision of a certain hairy 350-lb. Leather Dominator who had won the Miss Virginia Daddy Bear title at the MAL festivities.”

Storch wrote, “Karl used to hang out a JR’s, which is on 17th between P & S streets, before he became so well-known. This is a respectable gay bar for discreet people…,” adding, “there is an expensive apartment…over near Dupont Circle that certain powerful senators take turns visiting with their pickups.”

“Bush, via Karl Rove, was projected as a moral man who would return a hedonistic America to the simpler virtues of a bygone era. A large part of the American public, unhappy with what they saw as debilitating liberalism, abortion on demand, gay marriage and other forms of moral decay, put Bush back in office,” said the Barnes editor.

“Now they have to deal with rampant male whores prancing around the White House in consort with a small army of closet queens, all of whom very obviously have the ear, and the confidence, (and hopefully, that’s all they have) of their ‘moral’ choice for President,” said Storch.

Interestingly, TBRNews.org also counts “one Supreme Court Justice, several governors (all Republican) and at least one very prominent televangelist” among those high officials who are saying one thing and doing another with respect to Storch’s closet queen issue.

Personally, I don’t buy it. On the other hand, it might explain why a prostitute named Bulldog got a White House day pass just about every day for over year under the name “Jeff Gannon.”

Pensito Review recently reported on a group of Florida parents asking a school board to make means to “opt out” of military recruiting more widely available on campus.

Parents, since these lists are being compiled on kids beginning in middle school, and since recruiters begin contacting them that early, don’t wait to sign up.

Rush Limbaugh is looking more like the poster child for today’s drug addict. A recent study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University found that the type of drugs Rush enjoy(ed) are the drugs of choice for more Americans than all others combined.

The 15.1 million Americans abusing controlled prescription drugs exceed the combined number abusing cocaine (5.9 million), hallucinogens (4.0 million), inhalants (2.1 million) and heroin (.3 million).

Among the most popular are OxyContin and Vicodin, Valium and Xanax, and Ritalin and Adderall. The study found that between 1992 and 2003, there was an 81 percent increase in abuse of these drugs by adults (18 and over), and a startling 212 percent jump among 12- to 17-year-olds.

“Our nation is in the throes of an epidemic of controlled prescription drug abuse and addiction,” said Joseph A. Califano, Jr., CASA’s chairman and president and former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare. “While America has been congratulating itself in recent years on curbing increases in alcohol and illicit drug abuse, and in the decline in teen smoking, abuse of prescription drugs has been stealthily, but sharply, rising.”

Availability of these drugs – which are so much more alluring to the Rushes and Noelle Bushes of the world – online has a lot to do with their popularity, the study said. If only they had figured out how to buy online, the pair might not have been busted for doctor shopping.

In a “go for broke” attack on the fundamental tenets of the system of American justice, we predict Rove is already using cut-outs to try and figure out a discreet way to personally expose some skeleton in [special prosecutor Patrick] Fitzgerald’s closet that will then call the “character, judgment and motivation” of the prosecutor into question — and sink the investigation through an ad hominem attack. This is Rove’s pathological gutter tactic.

Spreading slime about an opponent is a reflexive tactic for Karl Rove when he’s backed in a corner.

He doesn’t know how NOT to use it when backed into a corner.

Karl knows that loyalty is everything — so watch for slime about Fitzgerald to start oozing from the mainstream media if Judith Miller shows signs of starting to talk, in return for immunity from prosecution.

Of course, in Fitzgerald’s case, Rove will have to make up the allegations, but he and Bush are master B.S. artists — and the mainstream media loves to turn their fictions into fact.

Just look at how the mainstream media abetted the Bush Administration lying us into a war and then undercutting our national security by exposing a CIA operative who specialized in tracking the very weapons that Bush and Cheney claimed we were going to war to stop from being used by Iraq.

Of course, there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. Tens of thousands of people have died as a result. Billions upon billions of our taxpayer dollars that could have been used to improve the lives of our people here in America have been wasted. And all Rove, Bush, Cheney and the GOP can do is defend outing a CIA operative who was trying to prevent the spread of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

It sometimes amazes me what the Department of Defense releases through its American Forces Press Service. Take, for instance, the story it just released on Congressional hearings where the Army claimed that only a small number of the allegations of detainee abuse at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, violated DoD policies.

Even those actions were not severe enough to be called “inhumane,” however, according to what a general investigating the allegations told Congress Wednesday. Note that the allegations of inhumane abuse came from FBI agents on the scene.

A U.S. Southern Command investigation into allegations FBI agents made that detainees at Guantanamo were being treated inhumanely found that one particular high-value detainee was subjected to up to 20 hours of intense interrogations on most days over a period of nearly two months. An unclassified summary of the reports findings stated that long interrogations and other techniques used were not violations of DoD policy in themselves but that the cumulative effect was “degrading and abuse” to this individual.

“I do not, however, consider this treatment to have crossed the threshold of being inhumane,” Air Force Lt. Gen. Randall Schmidt, the senior investigating officer, told members of Senate Armed Services Committee. Schmidt commands the Air Force component of U.S. Southern Command. SOUTHCOM chief Army Gen. Bantz Craddock appointed him as senior investigating officer in February.

If interrogating someone for 20 hours a day for two months ain’t inhumane, I’ll eat your yellowcake plutonium.
