Let’s face it. Even if Bush Co. found bin Laden, they’d probably still blow it, just as they are with Zacarias Moussaoui.
“In all the years I’ve been on the bench, I’ve never seen such an egregious violation of the court’s rule on witnesses,” U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema said…
Brinkema said a lawyer for the Federal Aviation Administration had violated the rule by reading the transcript of the first day of the trial and discussing the case with several potential witnesses who were due to be called by both the prosecution and the defense…
The defense already had requested a mistrial following an error by the government during the questioning of an FBI witness.
“This is the second significant error by the government affecting the constitutional rights of this defendant,” Brinkema said. “More importantly, it affects the integrity of the criminal justice system of the United States.”

Strike two!
If they get to strike three, does that mean they goe to jail instead of Moussaoui?
I’m just wondering if these government lawyer clowns got their courtroom experience as public defenders of murder suspects in Texas.
Your headline is WRONG! Judge has not yet decided IF death penalty still applies; she stopped the trial for a special hearing Tuesday, after which she will decide whether or not the death penalty still applies. We can’t complain about the MSM misleading us if we do the same thing. Do you work for FOX?
Judge Unexpectedly Halts Moussaoui Trial
By Michael J. Sniffen / The Associated Press / Monday 13 March 2006
Alexandria, Virginia – An angry federal judge considered Monday whether to dismiss the government’s death penalty case against confessed al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui after a federal attorney coached witnesses in violation of her rules.
“I do not want to act precipitously,” US District Judge Leonie Brinkema said in scheduling a special hearing on the case Tuesday, but she said that it was “very difficult for this case to go forward.”
No matter WHAT the trial judge rules, the new BUSHIST SCOTUS will decide the case anyway that Rove and Company tell them to, so what is the fuss?
I don’t know for the life of me why anyone in their right mind would expect anything but one screw up after another from the least effective, most oppressive administration in American history. In only five short years Bushco has done what no foreign government could ever do: destroyed our representative democracy, declared our Constitution obsolete, put himself above the law, utterly destroyed the principles of the “rule of law, and made us a “nation of men” ruled by a theocratic despot and his amoral cronies in Congress.
Hasn’t ANYONE in this country caught on to the fact that in England, Europe, Asia, and most of the rest of the free world, terrorist and their groups are busted, incarcerated, and convicted in hugh numbers, while here in the U.S. there have been only a small number of minor terrorists even caught, much less convicted. WE CAN’T GET CONVICTIONS ON ARRESTS MADE OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARIES OF LAW OR BASED ON ILLEGALLY OBTAINED EVIDENCE.
And anyone possessing common sense and the ability to reason logically inherently knows I’m right. When the Patriot Act was up for renewal, how many hundreds of arrests and successful prosecutions were cited in support? NONE? Why? Because we are no longer a nation of laws, and the “men” who have taken over are too incompetent to realize that terrorism is a law enforcement matter and NOT an occasion for wholesale violations of human rights in the name of fear.
So Fearful Leader Bush and all his spies and spooks, kidnapping and torturing the innocent as well as the suspect, can all kiss my ass when they claim they are “protecting” this nation with their illegal acts. This case is emblematic of this illegal administration. You send “good guys” to arrest and prosecute “bad guys”, not “the very worst lawbreakers” of all. It is, after all, the only way that “good” can triumph over “evil”, and we used to know that in this country. Now Evil triumphs while good men do nothing.
