Republican Senators Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and Don’t Answer the Phone for Lady Ga Ga

Ga Ga: “I am here to be a voice for my generation, not the generation of the senators who are voting, but for the youth of this country, the generation that is affected by this law, and whose children will be affected. We are not asking you to agree with, or approve of the moral implications of homosexuality.”

There is so much wrong with these assumptions that it’s hard to know where to start (many Guard members are in their 30s, 40s, and even 50s, and why NOT ask the senators to stop declaring homosexuality is immoral?) but as the aunt of a 12-year-old, I know that Ga Ga is correct that she speaks for youth, and her heart is definitely in the right place on this one.

  1. As a gay man in his 50’s as strange as it may seem I’m one of her little Monsters and say thank you GA GA you give me hope in your Generation mine not so much.

  2. One’s sexuality is personal and should be respected as such. Those who call themselves by the name Christian and judge others on the basis of sexuality are not what they say they are. The Bible teaches that God made man in His own image. When I ask these faux Christians on blogs if man is made in God’s image, and that includes gays and lesbians, are they saying that God made a mistake? They cannot answer the question. According to Christian doctrine, we are all made in God’s image, so these faux Christians should leave the judging of all of us to God. As a Christian it makes me sick to see so many humans assume God’s powers to do their own bidding. The GOP is not the party of individual rights or personal responsibility. If it were, the party members would stop harassing their fellow citizens about the “wrongness” of their sexuality, and realize that people are capable of making their own decisions. Other nations have moved beyond this, but there are those in this country who still are unable to let others live their lives the way they want to.

  3. Once again fear & bigotry has stopped republican senators from doing the right and correct thing. not a suprise but how sad taht we live in a time where sexuality is still even an issue and we actively discriminate against equality for all US Citizens. No wonder the US no longer is held in high regard all around the world. Well done to gaga and her ilk. I for one salute you.
