First Cuban Migrants Since Castro’s Death Land in Florida

Number of Cuban migrants who landed in the Florida Keys Tuesday, AP reports. They were the first Cuban migrants to land in the U.S. since Fidel Castro’s death. Following Donald Trump’s election and Castro’s death, there has been a surge in Cubans trying to reach the U.S., fearing a change in the “wet foot/dry foot” policy. Last week the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted 38 illegal migrants and returned them to Cuba.
