Generations at Odds Over Immigration reform

Of Americans say they support a bill that would attempt to increase border security and create a pathway to citizenship for many undocumented immigrants, with 45% saying they are opposed to such a measure, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. Six in 10 Democrats favor the bill, with independents and Republicans split down the middle. Senior citizens oppose the bill by a 17-point margin, while younger Americans tend to favor it.

Graham: GOP In a Death Spiral

If we don’t pass immigration reform, if we don’t get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn’t matter who you run in 2016. We’re in a demographic death spiral as a party and the only way we can get back in good graces with the Hispanic community in my view is pass comprehensive immigration reform. If you don’t do that, it really doesn’t matter who we run in my view.

— Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who helped write a bipartisan immigration bill under debate in the Senate, said “conservatives who are trying to block the measure will doom the party and all but guarantee a Democrat will remain in the White House after 2016’s election,” the AP reports.

Immigration Could Lead to Armed Revolt

One of the things that concerns my constituents — the majority of my constituents — is the appointments that are now being made in Washington by our President and the way he is handling the illegal immigrants, nationalizing them and giving them the opportunity to vote, and wanting to keep track of our guns. They are worried that they are going to have to use these guns because of our own government. Now is there anything in Washington that says — any telltale signs that maybe we might be headed for an internal revolution given the fact that these kinds of things are going on?
