Trump Would Be the Least Popular Nominee Ever

67%

“Trump’s unfavorable rating stood at 67% — two-thirds of all Americans — in a March Washington Post-ABC poll, including 56 percent who had a ‘strongly’ unfavorable impression of him. Just 3 in 10 had a favorable impression of Trump (15% ‘strongly’). American politicians tend to be more unpopular than usual these days, but it’s hard to overstate how bad Trump’s numbers are with all Americans. In fact, Trump’s highly negative ratings appear to have no equal among major party nominees in presidential campaigns over the past 32 years.”

Trump Unites GOP Fundraisers — In Opposition to Him

4.8 million

Amount raised by the Anti-Trump PAC, Bloomberg reports. “The prospect of a Donald Trump nomination is accomplishing what a diverse and talented field of Republican presidential contenders could not: uniting the party’s big-money donor establishment,” the New York Times reports. “Some of the wealthiest conservative givers in the country are helping pay for a series of last-ditch attacks to wound Mr. Trump, disclosures filed on Sunday night revealed, even after previously backing rival Republican candidates. And officials involved with the political groups have made clear that they are aggressively raising more money to fight Mr. Trump, hoping to deprive him of enough delegates to win the Republican nomination outright. That would set the stage for a contested convention in July.”

Trump has Spent $25 Million on His Campaign

$6.9 million

Amount Donald Trump put of his personal money into his presidential campaign in February, the Washington Post reports. “Since he began his White House bid last year, the billionaire real estate developer has lent or given his campaign nearly $25 million, according to Federal Election Commission reports. Although he maintains that he is self-funding the effort, his supporters have contributed $9.5 million, including $2 million in February.”

Utah Would Vote Democrat — Against Trump — for the First Time in 50 Years

48% to 37%

Margin by which Bernie Sanders would defeat Donald Trump in Utah in a head-to-head presidential contest. Hillary Clinton would defeat Trump, 38% to 36%. A new Deseret News/KSL poll finds that if Donald Trump becomes the Republican Party’s nominee, Utahns would vote for a Democrat for president in November for the first time in more than 50 years.

Secret of Trump’s Success: The ‘Liberal Media’ Has Given Him a Free Ride

Statistics on media coverage of the 2016 presidential race reveal how Donald Trump has managed to dominate the race. He did by commandeering media coverage and using the time to promote his brand of racist demagoguery.

The media has been complicit, of course, because it turns out that inflaming race hatred in America is good for ratings.

Amy Goodman laid it all on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday.
