OK, we live in democracies, so we determine who gets to be our leaders, right? Apparently, the whole democracy plan isn’t working out so well. Seems almost nobody approves of the job their leader is doing. Here’s a brief rundown of some of the world’s leaders and their current approval ratings:
George W. Bush, President of the United States: 28 percent
United States Congress: 23 percent
Nicholas Sarkozy, President of France: 36 percent
Gordon Brown, Prime Minister of Britain, 32 percent
Brendan Nelson, Australia’s Federal Opposition Leader, 7 percent
Hugo Chavez, Dictator of Venezuela, 30 percent
On the other hand, two guys who are not selected based on the popular vote are doing pretty well:
Pope Benedict XVI, God’s Rep on Earth, 70 percent
Vladimir Putin, Czar of Russia, 80 percent
Newsflash: Hugo Chavez is NOT the “Dictator of Venezuela”, he is democratically elected.
And his approval rating is NOT 30%, it’s over 65.

If you’re gonna cite stats, at least show your source, so people who KNOW what they’re talking about can tell you whose ass it was pulled from.
And if you’re gonna make pronouncements on the democratic status of foreign leaders, try basing it in fact. It tends to work better that way.

Last time I looked, Hugo Chavez had been overwhelmingly ELECTED by a stunning 70+% majority of the population.
Moreover the elections in Venezuela were monitored by impartial international election monitors, and given a complete bill of health… which is something to which US elections have NOT been subjected and could NEVER EVER pass since they have all been stolen since at least 2000.
