Mike Huckabee, the former Baptist preacher and governor of Arkansas, who recently asserted that “the same Power that helped the little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of 5,000 people” was behind his campaign’s success, has been projected to lose the New Hampshire primary tonight.
At 5:15 p.m., NBC has called the race for Sen. John McCain, with Mitt Romney second and Huckabee a distant third.
5:48 p.m.: Romney’s conceding. Just occurred to me that he has all the worst qualities of John Kerry and Al Gore but none of their virtues.
Now the burning question is, will Chuck Norris be standing behind Huckabee tonight like he did in Iowa. He and his big white teeth, not to mention his trophy wife, completely upstaged Huckabee during his victory speech in Iowa last week.
5:59 p.m.: Huckabee concedes with Chuck Norris nowhere in sight. I guess Norris doesn’t do losers. Not surprisingly, Huckabee does not mention God’s hidden hand and its possible relationship to his loss.

Poor John McCain, he looks like hell these days; he’s screwed either way; even if he won the repub nomination the election would kill him and if not he’s worked his a$$ off for nothing, and it’s obvious already that has taken it’s toll on him. He really should just drop out and enjoy the rest of his life. The thing is, that makes too much sense, and as we all know the repubs aren’t big on that…
Huckabee’s message was effective with “the children of the corn” in Iowa.He should have quit there.His glib lies about talking to God won’t play most other places, because everyone knows God spends all of His time talking with Pat Robertson and George Bush.

I believe every person in the entire republican party should consider dropping out. This is one group of NUTS. Not one intelligent soul in the group.
Should McCain get the Republican nomination – I would be very concerned about his pick for VP as he himself may not make it through the first term. Are we really ready for a President Liberman or Huckabee?
