Biden Releases $1.3 Billion in Delayed Storm Aid for Puerto Rico
$1.3 billion
“The Biden administration said it would release $1.3 billion in aid that Puerto Rico can use to protect against future climate disasters, and is starting to remove some restrictions put in place by the Trump administration on spending that was to help the island after Hurricane Maria in 2017,” the New York Times reports.
Grifter-In-Chief Trump Ran a Grand Scam
$175 million
“Former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party leveraged false claims of voter fraud and promises to overturn the election to raise more than a quarter-billion dollars in November and December as hundreds of thousands of trusting supporters listened and opened their wallets,” the New York Times reports. “But the Trump campaign spent only a tiny fraction of its haul on lawyers and other legal bills related to those claims. Instead, Mr. Trump and the G.O.P. stored away much of the money — $175 million or so — even as they continued to issue breathless, aggressive and often misleading appeals for cash that promised it would help with recounts, the rooting out of election fraud and even the Republican candidates’ chances in the two Senate runoff races in Georgia.”
Dems in 2021 — In Power and Rolling in Dough
$75 million
New York Times: “The Democratic National Committee will report to the Federal Election Commission on Sunday that it ended 2020 with $38.8 million in the bank and $3 million in debts, according to an advance look at its financial filings. In addition, there is roughly $40 million earmarked for the party, left over from its joint operations with the Biden campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.”
The GOP Has No Antibodies for Crazy — And No Vaccine, Either!
“If Democrats force a vote on expelling Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene or stripping her committee assignments, the number of GOP congressmen who will back the QAnon crazy lady will be roughly the same number who opposed impeachment. It will be the overwhelming majority of the GOP caucus. … Republicans are already rehearsing their excuses and rationalizations. But the reality is that the post-Trump/forever Trump GOP simply no longer has the antibodies to fight off the contagion of crazy. … A healthy political party actually cares about truth. It is concerned about its credibility and can distinguish a difference of opinion from the insane rantings of a deranged conspiracist. But the GOP is not a healthy party; over the last four years it has morphed into a cult, where believing lies and celebrating ‘fighting,’ have become rituals of admission.”

Now Eric Trump is a feisty and loyal young pup,
In the electoral college betting pool, he ante’d up.
Eric bet that his Daddy
Would get a cool 320,
We don’t know what he lost, but we’d bet he didn’t pay up.
