Trending on Twitter: Did Trump Kill His Assistant, Carolyn Gombell, in 2000?

This is not Carolyn Gombell

Did Trump kill his assistant in 2000? The hashtag #JusticeforCarolyn has been trending on Twitter since “God” said he did in this tweet:

Donald Trump killed his personal assistant, Carolyn Gombell, in October 2000. He strangled her because he’d gotten her pregnant and was threatening to tell the press. Then he bribed NYPD Police Chief Bernie [Kerik] to cover it up. IT’S TIME TO INVESTIGATE. #JusticeForCarolyn.

And later:

Don’t let Trump get away with it.
Don’t let Barr help him cover it up.
Don’t let his press secretary equivocate about it.
And don’t let the media gloss over it because “it was so long ago” or “he was officially cleared”.
Demand, demand, DEMAND #JusticeForCarolyn.

As Andrea Junker put it: “Many people say Trump strangled his personal assistant #CarolynGombell in October 2000 because he’d gotten her pregnant and she was threatening to tell the press, and then he bribed NYPD Police Chief Bernie Kierik to cover that murder up.”

Obviously, this story is not true. But as the Palmer Report put it, “I don’t care that Donald Trump didn’t really murder Carolyn Gombell. I don’t care that Carolyn Gombell doesn’t even exist. I’m still demanding #JusticeForCarolyn because why the hell not? If Trump can demand investigations into imaginary murders, the rest of us can too!”
