More than Half of Price of ‘Made in China’ Products Goes to U.S. Workers, Businesses

About 56 percent of what you pay for something “made in China” goes to U.S. workers and companies, on average, according to a new analysis released by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the Washington Post reports. The rules are complicated, but “made in China” roughly indicates a good was assembled in a Chinese factory. Its parts, design, marketing and distribution may have come from anywhere — and that “anywhere” is often the United States.
Most Americans Favor Tougher Gun Laws, But Have Little Faith in Congress to Act

Most Americans want tougher gun laws, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. It showed that 69 percent of Americans, including 85 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of Republicans, want strong or moderate restrictions placed on firearms. But among those who want tougher gun laws now, only 14 percent said they were “very confident” their representatives understood their views on firearms, and just 8 percent felt “very confident” their elected representatives would do anything about it.
