It was a philosophy that people understood. Philosophies are powerful. Obama to Seek 7 Percent Federal Budget Increase

Increase in the federal budget that President Obama will ask Congress for beyond the current budget limits in fiscal 2016, Bloomberg reports. “The request sets up a fight with the Republican-led House and Senate over whether to reverse part of the spending limits that Congress and the White House agreed to in a series of fiscal deals earlier this decade… It’s a bold move at a time when many Republicans in Congress say they are eager to make deeper cuts in spending and are invigorated by a November election in which they expanded their House majority and seized control of the Senate.”
Huckabee – Whose Son Tortured and Killed a Dog – Should Avoid Bashing the Obamas’ Parenting Skills
Fox News fired Mike Huckabee from his job as a chatshow host last week when he revealed he was testing the waters for another presidential run. (Interesting to know that Fox has some ethics.) Suddenly finding himself outside the right-wing limelight, Huckabee urgently needed attention, so he took a cheap shot at the Obamas’ parenting skills:

Of Americans now approve of the job President Obama is doing, while just as many disapprove, a new CBS News poll finds. His approval rating is now at the level it was a year ago, and has risen seven points since last October.
Big Government GOP Bill to Deport Undocumented Families Would Add $285 Billion to US Debt
As its first major action in the 114th Congress, the GOP tea-party controlled House voted yesterday to deport the nearly 12 million people living in the United States illegally, including many families who have been U.S. residents for decades.
Republicans, who won additional seats in the House and control of the Senate in the midterm elections, claimed their action to overturn Pres. Obama’s executive action to stop mass deportations expressed the will of voters. In fact, the president did not issue his executive action until after the Nov. 4 elections. In their messaging about the bill, GOP representatives persistently referred to the president’s order as “illegal amnesty,” ignoring the fact that recent Republican presidents, including Ronald Reagan, issued 18 similar executive orders revamping immigration policies.
Despite the fact that terror attacks in Paris had drawn international attention less than a week earlier, Republicans gamed a crucial funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security with partisan ploys intended to force mass deportations. GOP amendments to the bill funding the government’s anti-terrorism activities targeted undocumented residents, especially the “Dreamers,” young people who were brought into the country when they were children or infants:
