Dr. Democrat’s Post-Midterm Postmortem

doctordemocrat2Dear Dr. Democrat:

After the midterm elections last night, I feel like I just want to go into a corner and cry. I think rather than distancing themselves from President Obama, Democratic candidates should have used him to motivate the base. I’m frustrated and not a little frightened about what the Republicans will do now that they hold both houses of Congress.

Depressedly yours,

Devastated in Loserton

Dear Devastated:

It’s cold comfort, I know, but the Republicans are going to do it up big time. Tailgunner Ted Cruz and his newly expanded Klown Kar Caucus (formerly known as tea baggers) will demand investigations that will produce nothing while driving the moderate wing of the GOP nuts. They’ll spend a huge amount of time trying to roll back reproductive rights, gay marriage, etc.

They’ve spent hundreds of millions of dollars on ads driving President Obama’s negatives up in red states. Now those ads are gone, and slowly but surely reality will seep back in.

For example, I loved this from David Letterman on Obama: “Take a look at this: gas under $3 a gallon – under $3 a gallon. Unemployment under 6 percent, whoever thought? Stock market breaking records every day. No wonder the guy is so unpopular.”

See, I think the nonpartisan ship sailed off when Reagan came in or maybe it was Gingrich. It used to be that “voting for the person, not the party” was an ideal. Now, if you vote for a person, you’re voting for the party.

In my view, we are at war with the GOP. Period. Full stop. They are evil. The future of the country is at stake, and they must be stopped.

So take heart. Don’t be devastated. Get mad, get creative and let’s get even.

  1. If you only read one article about the mid terms please do yourselves a favor and read Stonekettle Station.
I promise you will agree with it 100% and it covers the whole situation.

  2. Yes it is, but you have to read the whole thing, even I had forgotten some of the presidents accomplishments but I am once again in awe of him!
