Fox News Shares an Obamacare Success Story

By accident, I’m sure, Fox News Online was fair and balanced. The site ran a story by Sally Kohn — a self-described Obamacare guinea pig — about her experience of purchasing insurance through the New York state exchange. It took her a few frustrating days, but in the end she got better coverage for her family and saved money.

In other words, there’s still plenty of time to fix the websites and for more Americans to enroll — and save. Meanwhile, we know that in a state like Oregon, ObamaCare has already reduced the number of uninsured individuals by 10%. Glitches aside, that’s a great start.

We’ve suffered through four years of outlandish attacks against ObamaCare — that it will kill our grandmothers, or at least just kill our economy. But the fact is that ObamaCare has created a private marketplace so that millions of American families like mine can get affordable, quality health insurance while keeping more of our hard-earned money.

GOP, Tea Party Unfavorables Hit New Record High

Of Americans say they have an unfavorable view of the Republican party, an all-time high dating back to 1992 when CNN first asked the question, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. Only 30% say they hold a favorable view of the party. Meanwhile, 56% say they have an unfavorable view of the tea party movement, another record high in CNN polling.

Majority Think Congress Would Be Better If We Fired All the Bums

Of those surveyed in a new USA Today/Princeton Survey Research poll — equal to the margin of error — say Congress would be changed for the worse if nearly every member was replaced next year while 47% say it would work better. “Those findings are similar to the public’s views in previous years when voter dismay cost one side or the other control of the House. In 1994, when Democrats lost their majority, 40% said Congress would be better off if most members were replaced. In 2006, when Republicans lost control, 42% held that view.”

Reid: Cruz Wants to Run for President

In an effort to help him run for president, he has done some stuff that’s really damaging to our country. He’s been attempting to raise money. And who has he hurt? He has hurt average Americans. The government being shutdown for 14 or 15 days, that has been very hurtful to people. Not only the people that work for government, but the people who work around government.

— Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), telling the Washington Post in a forthcoming interview that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) did what he did during the government shutdown because he wants to run for president.

It’s GOP Deja Vu All Over Again

If this sounds all too familiar, it’s because Republicans were licking their wounds around this time last year after being blindsided by a presidential election whose outcome they should have seen coming a mile away. But ignorance was bliss as conservative politicians and talkers pushed bogus polls and political fairy tales to angry voters who were once again on the losing side of history. Media outlets that released polls showing President Obama winning were attacked as biased and conservatives who warned of Romney’s weaknesses were rhetorically burned at the stake as heretics.
