Last week, top Republican propagandists led by Karl Rove latched onto proof — finally — that Pres. Obama hates America.
It started when Ben Shapiro at the Big Lie site Breitbart.com tweeted, “Obama campaign is headed overseas — with its celebrity friends in tow. The European Obama campaign starts next week in Paris on July 4. That also may be the only place Obama can still find cheering throngs.” (Except, of course, for Ohio, Pennsylvania and other swing states.)
Based on a misreading (we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt) of that brief item, a soulless demagogue at National Review tweeted “Final Jeopardy – Category is OBAMA: The answer is: Fundraising in Paris.” Rove retweeted that, to his millions of followers.
Facts, schmacts, right?
In fact, Pres. Obama spent the Fourth this year the same way he spent it last year, at the White House, hosting a naturalization ceremony for active duty service members.
It’s not just the lying, it’s the stupid, easily checkable lying.
Actually, Jon, I think its the multiple, daily, stupid easily checkable lying. I’d say ignore it but so many people are buying it. Why don’t the Dems start a lie chart which adds up the daily amount of Republican lies similar to the national debt clock? It might be enlightening to the “independents” (closet Repugs).
Agreed, Calgal – ignoring their lies is no longer an option, but there are so many that it’s hard to keep up!
