Here’s a right-wing blogger from the idiocrat website, RedState.com, hyperventilating with joy over the news that Bush clone Rick Perry is running for president:
I have been waiting months for this day. Today, the next president of the United States entered the fray, Texas Governor Rick Perry. He is one of only two candidates actually running on the idea of Conservatism, and he is the only one with executive experience. He, unlike our Radical-In-Chief, Pres. BO, is an alpha male who will once again remind the world that they should fear us, and will make our enemies shake in their boots while emboldening our allies. He will once again put the word of God in our national debate, and he will stand resolute in the face of the liberal attack machine. aka the Mainstream media. He, as governor, has espoused Conservative values and run one of the most Conservative governments in a long time, proving that Conservatism works. I daresay that with todays [sic] announcement, Rick Perry just became the next POTUS.
Oy. And as to Perry’s remarkable resemblance to George Bush, Worst President Ever, and unarguably the most unpopular president in the history of presidential polling, the blogger says, nuh-uh:
Those on the the left and/or middle of the Republican Party criticize Rick Perry as looking and sounding like George W. Bush. This is a ridiculous argument. Bush never called himself a Conservative, but of course Perry has. Bush was born in New Hampshire and lived on a blue-collar gentlemans ranch. Perry was born in Paint Creek, Texas, the son of tenant farmers. The two men are quite a bit different, both in politics and in personality. They call Perry a “cowboy”. This is just proof of the left’s anti-americanism [sic]. Cowboys are the epitome of America and all she stands for. Whats wrong with our president being a Cowboy?
Sorry, Dittohead, you get 50 points off for missing the birth place of your Dear Leader. George W. Bush was born in New Haven, Conn., not New Hampshire. (Not that we expect products of Christianist home-schooling to know anything about United States geography.)
And, of course, Bush referred to himself as a conservative many times, albeit a compassionate one. Yes, “compassionate conservative” is an oxymoron, and it sums up in two words the Rovian talent for Newspeak propaganda.
Don’t misunderestimate Rick Perry. He’s got a winning formula, looking like W the Second. (W did manage to steal two elections, after all.)
Well Perry and Bush are both neo-cons, they admit to that more so than anything and neo-cons are just democrats gone right wing.
As for “compassionate conservative” being an oxymoron, please explain the groups of people, christian or not that are conservative and do help people; because Jon, it seems more like you enjoy blasting christians or people that call themselves “conservative” rather than you prefer staying on topic( Why not just call it like it is, they’re neo-cons and those people are the former left and follow those ideals. Protect the jews, spread liberalism and democracy using the military, allow for a welfare state, support aspects of socialism and want amnesty for illegal aliens; GW Bush did, thats for sure)
