It appears that there are indeed more shoes ready to drop in the Arnold Schwarzenegger sex scandal saga. The National Enquirer is reporting that, as governor, Schwarzenegger used his California Highway Patrol security detail to coordinate his assignations with young women in a Sacramento hotel, according to the MailOnline in London:

Arnold Schwarzenegger used state-funded security measures to cover up his many sexual liaisons behind his wife’s back, according to his former security supervisor.

The explosive new claims have triggered a criminal investigation into whether or not the former California governor used tax payers’ dollars to cover up his extra-marital affairs, reports have claimed…

Veteran law enforcement officer William Taylor made the explosive claims exclusively to the National Enquirer and even passed a polygraph test.

He said the Terminator star used California Highway Patrol officers and vehicles to drive young, scantily-clad women to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sacramento on a regular basis.

He claims much of the hotel and the governor’s staff knew what was going on but that they were all too scared to speak out or do anything about it as Schwarzenegger had intimidated staff so much that they weren’t even allowed to make eye contact with him.

Taylor, who was head of security at the hotel, said: “It makes me very angry just to think about what was going on at that time.

“On three different occasions after the governor arrived alone at the Hyatt regency, CHP Dignitary Protection Services arrived in their official vehicles – black Ford Crown Sedans – about one to two hours later with one or two young female adults.

“They’d hurriedly escort the women through the service entrance on the second floor parking garage to the elevator that went to the governor’s private wing.

“The women looked between 18 to 25 years old, blonde and scantily dressed in club wear.”

Calbuzz, the go-to site on California politics, has a more jaundiced take:

It’s not that Meathead wouldn’t think such a Hound Dog Clinton move was a swell idea, of course. Rather, it’s that: a) we have a higher opinion of the CHP than that; b) the Enquirer report hangs the whole thing on the hotel’s alleged former “chief of security,” whom the Hyatt seems never to have heard of, and c) they seem a trifle shaky on their basic understanding of state law enforcement, for example, describing the Attorney General’s office as “a branch” of the Department of Justice.

Still, the supermarket tab is sticking to its story, and even raised the stakes in a folo that claimed AG Kamala Harris is conducting a “criminal inquiry” of the matter. We could not confirm that assertion, which they attributed to “multiple department sources,” nor could the indefatigable Carla Marinucci, whose coverage of the allegations characteristically has been more energetic than her MSM colleagues.

Still, says Calbuzz, “Given the Enquirer’s track record on this stuff – see Edwards, John – it’s premature to rule it out; at this juncture, however, mark us down as skeptical.”

Women “18 to 25 years old, blonde and scantily dressed in club wear,” who — if they existed — have kept silent about their encounters with the governor-movie star until now?

Look, it’s unlikely that Schwarzenegger sent his minions out trawling the clubs in Sacramento for young hotties: “Hey, sweet thang, want to get busy with the Gubernator tonight?”

On the other hand, as long as there has been a movie industry, there have been quick, furtive liaisons between aging stars and nubile young people. Traditionally, however, these young women (and men) have been paid, usually quite handsomely.

There’s an old saw about prostitution: Men don’t pay prostitutes to come to their rooms. They pay them to leave.

In Hollywood, prostitutes are paid better than most so that after they leave, they will keep their mouths shut about the encounters in perpetuity.

That said, as noted by Calbuzz, Carla Manucci, the San Fransisco Chronicle political reporter, found discrepancies in the Enquirer story. She also received a very stern denial from Schwarzenegger’s longtime fixer that any such shenanigans ever went on.
