Speaking from Baghdad, in the safety of the Green Zone, Sen. John McCain supported Pres. Bush’s secret plan to try to repair the tatters of his presidential legacy by sending thousands more American troops to die in the Iraq Civil War:
Sen. John McCain said Thursday that America should deploy 15,000 to 30,000 more troops to Iraq to control its sectarian violence, and give moderate Iraqi politicians the stability they need to take the country in the right direction.
McCain made the remarks to reporters in Baghdad, where he and five other members of Congress were meeting with U.S. and Iraqi officials.
“The American people are disappointed and frustrated with the Iraq war, but they want us to succeed if there’s any way to do that,” McCain, a possible 2008 presidential candidate, said at a news conference at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq’s heavily fortified Green Zone.
The Arizona Republican said five to 10 more brigades of U.S. combat soldiers must be sent to Iraq. Brigades vary in size but generally include about 3,000 troops, meaning he was recommending 15,000 to 30,000 additional forces.
We need to call this what it is, escalation. That is what they did in Vietnam and we all know how well that worked.
Escalating this war is pure folly.

Well the McCain brigade (like Darbys Raiders) did go to Bagdad, they did walk around Bagdad. The only thing is they (McCains Raiders) did that with 100 of our best troops, in armored vehicles.
Oh by the way just so you know we are in a civil war, we lost twice as many kids as did the Iraqi’s did last week in Bagdad. What a deal, McCain did not tell us that.
Last week the old man tried to say “Our General” drove around Bagdad with no armor vechicle. Then he blamed the press for not reporting the war the rightway. (the way old John sees the war)
This week he singled out a poor CNN reporter as being the culpret. It is a shame to watch someone who HAD it togather sell off just become the next president(old man Syndrome).
Lets blame the war on the press. (CNN) My god don’t blame it on Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, Neo cons, Mc Cain, Lieberman.
These guys are the culprets who caused this lie. We still don’t have Benn Ladden, we don’t have Al Qaudea in jail, we don’t have the opium trade under control in Afganistan, we don’t attack Qaudea in Pakistan, on and on.
But we do have Iraq under control after only two weeks, we couldn’t do it in 4 years but now that we have OUR General in Iraq and he has it under control in two weeks, sure and I believe there are WMD in Iraq. Go Nancy Go Nancy………..
Oh and blame the CNN reporter for being a bad person, by the way I am 72 years old…. it’s sort of like the new Coke Advertisement, John has a mind like a steal trap.
