Exxon CEO’s Retirement Package Is $400 Million

Meanwhile, Gas Is Heading Toward $3 per Gallon

Exxon CEO Lee Raymond’s salary was $51 million in 2005, but that’s all behind him now. After he retires, if lives another two decades, he’ll have to survive on $20 million a year:

Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.

  1. When are Americans going to wake up. This son of a bitch deserves nothing, he ripped off the American people. Mark is it sweet that you will soon be paying $3.00 for a gallon of gas? I am disgusted, the time is upon us to take our country back sooner than later. Wake up everyone.

  2. And yet when the Republicans in Congress finally grow the balls necessary to hold hearings and summon oil company CEOs to Congress, THEY DON’T EVEN SWEAR THEM IN. What does that mean? It means that they could lie through their teeth and Congress could not charge them with perjury (lying to Congress).

GOP Sen. Arlen Specter says “Well, but lying to Congress is just as bad as lying to a court.” Well, sort of … it is a crime to lie to a court or Congress WHILE UNDER OATH. If you’re not sworn to tell the truth, then you have not committed a crime.

Until we get the stupid ass Republicans out of power, the price of gas will NEVER go down because the oil companies are not held accountable … because the GOP is in bed with them.

I CAN’T WAIT to punish the Republicans at the polls in November … I can’t wait til we can say “Speaker Nancy Pelosi” and “Majority Leader Harry Reid” … we will finally have someone in power WHO GIVES A FLIP.

    VOTE DEMOCRAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Hello

To start 400 mil is more then anyone needs or deserves to retire, and I was astonished to see that retirement figure. I did some research and his achievements with Exxon are very impressive. He started with the company in ’63 thus putting over 40 years in with the company. Starting at a well compensated production research engineer position he rose through the ranks. By ’81 he was president of Esso Inter-America Inc. a subsiderary of Exxon, and by ’39 was CEO of Exxon. In ’99 he added Chairman to the list. This all for the largest company in the fourtune 500 passing Walmart in the last year I believe. This sounds like a man who worked his whole life for the money he made albiet a huge amount of money. As stated in the starter if he lives another 20 years he will be getting about 20 mil a year 40% of his salary. If I worked for my company for 42 years I’d get more then 40% in pension. He was the top person in the largest company in a booming industry and in fact the largest and most profitable company in the country. If he doesn’t get a boat load of money that who does. Sorry if this ticks peope off because I know prices are crazy at the pump, but it’s the whole point of the company to make money. The only way to make prices come down is to stop buying the gas at those prices en mass. Putting different people in government will not make a difference, it comes down to supply and demand.
