“So Many Hypocrites, So Little Time” We heartily endorse Buzzflash‘s naming of Republican mouthpiece Victoria Toensing as its “GOP Hypocrite of the Week.”
In the 1990’s, Toensing and her husband (and law partner) Joe diGenova set the standard for GOP hackery with their relentless pursuit of every real and (mostly) imagined infraction of the law by the Clinton administration. And yet earlier this week, appearing on C-Span, Toensing literally laughed out loud at the idea that her Dear Leader should be investigated even though Bush admitted he violated the FISA law.

When Toensing was all over the talkshows during the Wilson brouhaha, she said that she was (partly) responsible for writing the 1981 Covert Act. She often appeared and authored a couple of articles with a man named Bruce W. Sanford. Since I wasn’t familiar with her (I was in & out of the country in the 90’s) I did some very basic research. And she could not have been one of the writers of the Act. It was introduced to congress in 1/81 and she didn’t arrive in DC until that year. If you check out Mr. Sanfords resume, it appears he never worked for the congress. I tried to get this info out there, but couldn’t get anyone interested. It bummed me out. Thanks for giving me another place to rant about this. I really do not like that woman.
